so yesterday, i got a knock on the front door, and it was the neighbors who had found a lost dog, this dog was severely malnourished, sickly, but horribly friendly. I am in no position to get another dog, however, felt very compelled to do something about it. I was going to call the humane society, but then my girlfriend informed me that our counties humane society, when they can not find a home for the dog, donate it to animal testing facilities. I gave the dog some food, which he scarfed down super fast, gave him a few bowls of water, and soon enough, the dog was gone. most likely do go die on the streets. I dont know which is worse, letting a dog die in the streets or giving it away for animal testing.

thank you for feeding the dog. don't think you could have cared for it for a little longer? and possibly found a friend who wanted a dog or something? tough choice..

I know your pain. I take in dogs all the time. Much to the dismay and, sometimes anger, of my family. It's a tough choice of what to do. Let it go or send it off to probably be killed. Or in your case tortured. It's a terrible choice to have to make. I luckily have a no kill shelter in my town, but those are often filled. But give all that you are able, that is all that you can do.
    Bless your kindness.

out of the two choices, i think you did right. there is still a chance whilst the dog is on the street, that it may be picked up by someone else who can rehouse it somewhere, whereas sending it to a testing plant will only end one way. sadly.

im a dog groomer so if anyone finds a lost dog who do you think are getting the phone calls? this is a very tough decishion we usually keep them for a few days and see if the owners call if not we find a home or take it to a non profit, no kill shelter that is close by. you should see if there is one around your area any where. and thank you for giving him food and a lack of worries for a little while.
