You guys know how your hair brush gets linty and fuzzy after a while? Well, my question is this - If we aren't brushing our hair, then how do we get all that dust/lint/fuzz out of our hair? I wash my hair every 2-3days but whenever I look at a hair brush and see all that stuff I wonder if it's all getting washed away or not  Sometimes I see fuzz at the tips of my dreads (which are still not dreaded fully). Whatcha think?

    Huh? I don't get it.

I know my towels have to leave some lint on my hair, yk?

Yeh my sister grabbed a dread and pointed out the fuzz once, since then I've kept a close eye on my locks. I want nappy/knotty locks, not nasty locks, yk?

I've got a weird lint tidemark at just below my chin level, it's probably from my coat or something. You have to go looking for it so it's not that noticable. I assume it will incorporate into the dread, which would only really be an issue if I wore bright orange t-'s for 6 months at a time.

I'm finding in the tips of my dreads a load of black/grey dusty stuff, I'd cut it out and pull out the hairs to see what it is and its just dust. I've got blonde hair so its really easy to see, but I also feel around the tips to find it.

I don't think we'll ever get it out cus it gets trapped in all the hairs and stuff. On the 'I cut' thread I can't remember who it was (sorry!!) but she said she only found dust in her cut-off dread :)

So I doubt we're ever gonna get it out. Its kinda hard cus both my home and my room at uni AND my uni studio/dept are reeeally dusty xD I'm sure if you take care of the dust it won't be too bad :)

Next time I find a little clump of dust I'll take a pic of it in my dread and out :)

I'm constantly picking fluff out of my dreads. It really contrasts against my black dreads and it's a major pet peeve of mine. I can't wear my super soft micro fibre housecoat because it leaves so much fluff on the end of my dreads.

Dunno, I'd presume all the hairbrush stuff just lives in your dreads. Does it matter?

It only matters cause it's kinda creeping me out to think of the hairbrush junk in my dreads. Hopefully my awareness of it will help me keep it to a minimum.

I am a housekeeper and I wear a bandana on my hair when I clean to prevent a lot of dust getting in my hair.

I was going to buy a tam but I feel like that will cause even more lint, no?

I assumed that lint came from storing my brush in a purse.

Yeh but even if your hair is full of bits of your head 'n' hair 'n' fluff 'n' stuff, it'll all be clean coz you wash it. So chillllllllll :D

but i think of it like this
amy made that thread about all the memmories wrapped up in your dreads year after year
    the collective thoughts and experiences..
well the fluffs fuzzes pine needles and so on..are just souveniers .. klil collectables from your travels
just like the memmories they are part of the experiences throughout the years all locked inside..
