Tards should not be allowed blogs. Although that would result in a vast reduction in the number of blogs.

there would be a handful of blogs left, in fact just yesterday i read a blog about the film Watchmen where the writer complained about how the book was so great and the film was awful and didnt capture anything the book had, which was also one of his favorite books, however he on many occasions spelled the name of the Villain horribly wrong.

I laughed so hard at it i cried

I've read this before and had this whole arguement in a "mothering forum" of all places. I don't get it. and I have yet to meet anyone of any race who didn't like my locks. :)

That guy or girl? just seems like an ignorant asshole who shouldnt be allowed to have an opinion. If people like that were dead, the world would be a better place :D

I would love for all online dictionaries, with the word ignorant to have a direct link to that man's blog.

hmm a white person racist against white people?

all white ppl should do this and that and never do anythiong any other race can do.. no whites should play basketball or have penises over 8 inches, they should all chop them off to make sure they dont cross racial bariers..
no white women should have big butts (nor blacks small ones)
if a white persons got curly hair he must straighten it (and bhlacks should stop buying chremical straighteners)
ALL WHITES MUST BE CHRISTIAN blacks have only the choices of muslim or rasta (OR JUST WORSHIP A BLACK CHRIST AT LEASST)

every dread that dreaded before the rasta religion began must come back from the dead to shave theyre heads

noone may ever identify with a religion thats not bssed on the color of skin

every dread in the bible proves the bibles false cause no wghite men can have dreads.. either that, or christianity edited the black out of the truth and jesus and the deciples were all outta africa

this kids just an angry white kid..angry about being white i guess

I'm not against white people having dreadlocks...but it seems like people try to pin meaning to a hairstyle. It is kind of lame, because, truly the meaning of the dreadlock hairstyle resides in Rasta and that whole Babylon deal.

If you are white and have dreadlocks, just have dreadlocks - it pissed me off (personally) when people are like "I have dreadlocks because I like blah blah blah"...well...I cut my hair short because my soul is lonely, and ever since I kept my hair in a messy, yet somewhat defined "fauxhawk" I feel at peace with myself - thhbbbpppttt

Whatever...I don't really care if anyone has dreadlocks really, I guess my point is I don't want to hear about your life story and how it relates to your head...

The dude comes up with somewhat valid points but strays them off and supports them with stupid reasoning. My agreement to his statements are probably my annoyance at people jerking their ego cock to the fact that they have some wild and culturally unacceptable (broad spectrum here) hair-do...This annoyance is more based on individual confrontation with whites with dreads.

The whole deal that dreads are seen typically as in association with Rastafarianism is pretty dead on, though I'm sure many other cultures in history of the world (whites too! omg!) have dreaded hair. Though, the fact that on broad sense dreads = Rasta and that Rastas believe in that their dreads are a sort of spiritual resistance to a white man is pretty self-defeating when a white wears them...I can see where a Rasta might see it as a slap in the face...maybe.

The dude tries to make other points and references that are way off however. The way he says at the end that whites can't appreciate hiphop is pretty stupid - probably the same way you white dreaded peeps feel about his whole blog post. I love hiphop - TRUE hiphop (no radio garbage!). All three aspects of the hiphop culture as well.

I suppose it is necessary to educate yourself on these lifestyles before jumping into it, as with pretty much anything, else you may be considered a poser - which results into you being ostracized from the lifestyle you left to the one you attempted to become a part of. Education, humility and a willingness to learn more - that is VERY true of the modern graffiti movements, underground hiphop, and I'm sure "dreadlockies"(?)

    Whatever though

how can you say this in the same paragraph as the one where you announce that pinning a meaning to hair is lame.

I meant more like - if there were any meaning to the dreadlock it would reside with Rastafarians...because, well, it kind of does considering it is a central part in many of their beliefs.

Here: The only widespread and common beliefs tied to the dreadlock are within Rasta - any other meaning are more personal and, in my opinion, lame beyond a pure aesthetic liking

so your saying that if some one decides that a particular style has significance to them that no one else should clam another meaning for the same style, even if that individual/group didn't "invent" the style to begin with...
