I tend to agree. It's not that it wasn't a horrible thing, but to me, it's stupid pretending it's the only horrible thing thats happened. I don't see the reason to obsess over one piece of history, to me, it is all important.

The first thing one does when trying to understand it is to look back into the past, where the problem originated. That is history and you can go all the way back just trying to understand modern problems.
