Has anyone got "project M" to work on os x?

I tried the project M (mac version of milkdrop) plugin for itunes but it only runs for about 30 secs or so and I have the impression from all I've found online about it that it doesn't work on os x but that the standalone that works with "jack" does.

Problem with that is that I'm just barely computer literate and don't have clue about what all needs to be installed where. I guess I have to download jack and then hook it up with that somehow, and then there are libraries and plugins that have to be installed somewhere too but I haven't found any instructions for all this online.

Kinda looks like it's just the "geeks" and friends of "geeks" that are currently enjoying milkdrop on os x. I hope to become a "geek" someday, but I got a long way to go!

Been there. It gives the what but not the how. I need installation instructions.
I do have dual platform so I can always have a milkdrop fix if I need one, but I stay on the mac side most time.
