I have had a claim in with Comminsure - the insurance arm of the Commonwealth Bank for about five months now. All the metal stress makes me think that you might be better of in many cases with no insurance rather than having to fight for it as this causes much emotional aggravation and instead simply bank what you would pay in premiums. I also had a claim in with Elders Insurance that was for less than $500 for some broken windows. They did eventually pay up but certainly not in a hurry.
insuarnce companies are about making money for the shareholder not about giving money to the claiment. they only hand out money when they absolutely have to
