Yeah, I used to love Starcraft, I was pretty good too... 200+ APM

I'll for sure be buying SC II when it comes out, it's coming out in three different games, one for each race's campaign... Kind of odd...

yeah I just heard about that today, as long as all of the races are available for Battle.net play with the first game I don't mind waiting for the campaign honestly. It's probably better that way because you get 3X the content :D The only thing that I'm not looking foward to is the fact that they might charge monthly for B.net

They will already be making a mint off of the three different copies for each race, I don't know how even they could justify charging for battle.net time on a strategy game...but expect it in the almost inevitable upcoming MMORPGs based on both the starcraft and diablo universes. Blizzard is starting to take the act of exploiting their customers to an art form.

I'd be pissed if you had to pay for battle.net.

I'm kinda torn on this one. Part of me wants to buy into all the hype and think "Oh my gosh, this is going to be the RPG of this genre to beat since Warcraft III." Then part of me almost wants to boycott this game because the developers have taken over a decade on it!! I remember they had us stoked about it back in what, 2000 like it was about to drop back when they were talking about that SC Ghost game or what-not. Idk, if its not 10/10 with absolutely unbelievable re-play ability I don't know if I'll shell out the 60 bucks. Definitely looking forward to whatever it is they've been working on these past 10+ years

Once Blizzard merged with Activision they have gone pretty douchey.

3 separate campaigns to buy if you want the whole story? That's fucked up

    Pay for battlenet? HA!

They also want to have some sort of microtransactions in Diablo III...that's really lame

Oh and they are probably never going to do an RTS with Warcraft anymore...seriously, Warcraft III owns

I know a lot of people that are really unhappy with Blizzard...which is strange because Blizzard usually has so many adoring fans

yea almost all the games ive ever played are either blizzard or activision and sometimes they can be a bitch but im generaly satisfied with my money and time spent playin the games :) .. and paying for battle net? if they do it for starcraft wouldent they need to do it for warcraft to? ... even IF they would theyd prolly lose so many customers due to that fact ...

    1. blizzard is NO LONGER blizzard.
    2. This game is not the starcraft you know, it is a sick and cold facsimile, designed to milk the fanbase for money. it MAY still be good. and I REALLY hope it is, but the changes in the company, the culture, the staffing, the direction, all bad from a gamer perspective (good from a business perspective)
    3. Why wouldn't they charge for b.net? Really? it's commoditization. it's what they've been doing. for a very long time. Not as bad as sony, but bad.

I was never actually a huge fan of starcraft (plz don't hurt me) but I am quite excited about SCII, I just hope they don't plump for the annoying rock-paper-scissors mentality that has been plaguing RTS for a while now. As it's a PC game I have absolutely fuck all intention of paying for it, although there is a slim chance I'll buy DIII because I did like playing DII online.

I know I can't really stand here and preach having just declared my intention to pirate the fuck out these games but DLC is the fucking bane of gamers nowadays, why release the full product when you can nickle-and-dime your loyal customers for it over the course of then next 12 months? I honestly wouldn't mind if they didn't think every fucking thing was worth 2 hours wages 7.99 for 2 or 3 maps? May as well be trying to sell me horse armor. Start selling me shit at 50p a pop and maybe I'll put my hand in my pocket, along with millions of others, it's not like they have distributions costs or shit like that.

You mean like the way PSN is free, and game patches are free no matter how large they are, and the PS3 comes with nice standard USB ports on the front and HDMI on the back?

I assume you have somehow trying to apply "sony loves propriety formats" argument to subscription gaming, but as they aren't charging for online gaming (like MS), and playstation store uses real currency instead of points I don't really see how it is relevant.
