Possibly a strange question but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations / rules of thumb for guestimating the weight of your hair. There are a few gym / bf% / BMI calculations that relies on knowing your weight quite accurately and I'm a bit concerned about what I assume to be >1kg of dreads on my head.
I don't know a formula, but couldn't you get a close enough idea by laying them on some scales? Lol soaringeagle's BMI would be way off haha never thought about that before
maybe go to a supermarket, and pile all yer dreads onto one of those hanging weights in the produce department? haha, then get kicked out and run from security.
one of my awesome teachers in highschool cut two feet off hers because theyre weight was giving her neck problems.
If you know how long your hair was when you started dreading, and how long ago that was, and take a figure for an average growth rate of hair, you could work out your total hair length. I'm sure the internet has some kind of hair weight standard numbers.... even if you knew the weight per 1cm of a single strand of hair and could get an idea of your hair density in hairs per square cm on your head... you could definitely do some calculations. Depends how anal you wanna be lol
hairs light i doubt mine weighs more then 3-4 pouns...unless wet then irs 20 or so.. but 3 or 4 pounds when piled ontop of your head is plenty enough to make u feel off ballance and top heavy.. msybe its 5-6 i dunno..only hurts my neck noticlby when off ballance..but then again my ndck and back always hurt so maybe i dont notivce
im sure ur hair weighs more like 10 but ur just used to it. i dont think u realize how much hair is actually in ur locks haha
Yeah but it'll throw a lot of the resistance type bf% meters out by 2-3%, which is a fair chunk. I tryed weighing them on a postal scales and it was basically fruitless because they are too short/stiff but I don't think they weigh much more than 300g.
