So I went to the dentists yesterday. They said my wisdom teeth were impacted slightly. I'm only 15 and have impacted wisdom teeth.... Can anyone give me advice as in if this is going to hurt getting them removed?

I had mine removed at 19 yrs old. They were causing severe headaches and earaches. Two were impacted and two were not. I went to a maxillofacial surgeon, not a dentist. He put me to sleep and removed all four. I was in a lot of pain for few days but after that it started healing quickly. You cant hardly eat anything or drink from a straw or smoke. If you do you can cause the clots to come out and I understand that is extremly painful.

Also, how long after they put the IV in do you fall asleep?

it is no god damn fun at all!
been there and had it done at 18 years of age. if i had to do it again i sure in the hell would!
when i worked in an emergency room i saw several people who were told they needed to have it done and, they did not have it done due to fear of the pain. i saw two guys die from infections from not having it done. i saw one person, who had to have part of her jaw rmoved, due to her jaw being broken and infected because of the impacted teeth.
hell yes get it done and over with! some bad short term pain now, can save you from really, really, really, BAD long term pain down the road or, even possable death too.

Mine were a piece of cake. The last one was the problem one. Laid over on it's side and butted up against the other tooth.

Took an oral surgeon. I prefer novacaine. I'm just not that whimpy to get knocked out. Its really not that big of a deal anyway. Novacaine works well for me. I drove home afterward, a little sore the next day but no real pain otherwise. Modern dentistry is great.

At your age, you'll be back to normal quickly. Go for it.

It's not as bad as everyone makes it out today. You'll receive anesthetic during the operation and get prescribed pain medication after. Just make sure you get your meds and not having your fucking parents forget about them and leave you home alone without them. The younger you get it done the better, imo. I had mine out around your age.

Thing im nervous about is once i get home, not the operation itself.

Bah. I had a regular supper that same night. Just didn't chew on that side.

For about 3 days there was some soreness, but the meds took that right away.

Think of it this way, at 18, you could be some young man in a tribe in Africa who is fixing to be circumcised.

This, is a piece of cake.

It's a good time to get them done; I had mine removed at 16 in the summer. It's okay when they take them out, but after you bleed a lot, your face swells up and your whole mouth hurts. Just take alot of Advil and get alot of rest and you should be fine.

It's really not that bad. I got all four of mine removed when I was 14 at 8am and was eating crackers and mint chocolate chip ice cream by 6pm. I took one pain pill and refused to touch the rest, I just had to keep gauze in my mouth for a while and some ice on my face (though I got bored of that after an hour or so) no bruises or swelling or anything.
The only part that really bugged me was that when my mother was driving me home I couldn't feel my jaw to tell her that I would kill a man for a smoothie. It was really irritating, we passed the smoothie place and everything. Biggest craving in the world, broke my poor little teenage girl heart.
