    Congos?

This question has been on my mind for a while now. My girlfriend absolutely hates my congos, she gets really grossed out by them  Is she just weird and doesn't understand what it feels like to have dreadlocks? Or is this some feminine thing that I don't understand :p

I'm really curious, if I ask her to point out her favourite dreads on me then she always points to the more "boring" thin ones, which aren't so bumpy or lumpy, whereas I'm totally the opposite, I love my congos and the bumpy dreads with weird loopy bits in them. Please post your thoughts!

BTW guys this isn't a thread exclusively for women here, Im interested to hear if there are guys that don't like them as well.

Well when I was first researching for my own dreadies....I wanted the thinner kind. Now I wish I would of gone thicker, and I do still hope that they will fatten up. Maybe she too has been tainted by DHHQ :)

    Can ya closet-congo...hee hee

I can understand why she's a bit grossed out by them, I probably would be to if I didn't have dreads. Sometimes they remind me of animals w the two tails. Everyone has their weird thing, my sister can't stand the word 'cluster' and automatically hits someone if they say it. I have millions of weird things, I can only eat off china plates and sip out of china cups. I hate the sound of other plates. uhhhh

I did and still do closet congo! I put it off till she notices usually or till it really has to be pulled/cut apart. She used to police my hair a few years ago for congos, oh god it used to be funny watching her face when she cut them apart, just total disgust! She's stopped doing it now, don't know why. I guess it's because I do eventually rip them apart.
*sigh* the things we do for the people we love :p

Yes luxie I think really that is the point that she doesn't have dreads, so she just doesn't quite get it. hmm maybe that's not fair, I make it sound like she's dumb :p

So wait...she just goes, "ewww what is that," and goes and gets the scissors? YIKES

I don't let anyone mess with my head....with or without dreadies :)

Well she's a bit more diplomatic sometimes, but yes that's what she used to do, I do it myself these days. It used to be phrases such as:

"Shall I go and get the scissors darling?" :p

don't the scissors make them a tad weaker? I dunno.

I do rip the ones that are forming the two-heads, or feel like they're growing into different pieces.

This is the congo I have to stare at everyday and that hogs up the pillow space at night! I hate my boyfriends congo!!!!! Dont tell him I said that though everybody! I tried once hinting around the bush that we should seperate it or cut it?! And the look of sadness and hurt feelings on his face is something I never want to see again! Awww. He's rasta so he was really hurt that I would suggest we cut his precious religous lock! =[ Sooooo because I loooove the guy I am learning to love his lock. Humphf.
