    white people hair, yessm.

when i was little mine was fine and uber curly,, but as i grew it got thick and more wavy, and now its messy =D =D

    errp.

twist n rip vs backcombing......... my friend tried the twist & rip but couldnt figure it out so we went with backcombing.. i think the t&r looks good/better tho. look at luxies dreadies, thems were twisted and ripped

what do you think is best for shortish hair?
    5 - 6 inch..

Twist and rip, backcombing or both? :)

I think I'd probably do a bit of both. Or experiment with a couple of dreads and see what seems best.

    yeah, experiment

backcombing short hair is a bit of a time waste.. it falls out quicker/easier, and youd only actually backcomb around 4 inches, simply because you cant backcomb the whole length of the section. youd only really get tight roots, and then loose bits.

try the t&r and see how it works out =]

Okay. I twist and ripped one yesterday, and it was still here this morning, only slightly loose in the end.. I've washed it out now, but it seems that they will hold..

But the one i made looked thin in the end and large at the root, they maybe always do that on short hair?

it prolly looks thinner cause the hair isnt as tangled... when hair is tangled its loose and has lots of air gaps, making it look all puffy. mine are like it, fat at the top and just not at the bottom, its all good =]

And if you've just pushed all your hair up itself...more of it will be at the top, hence thicker :)

well of course you have to weigh your options...

im looking at losing health insurance/vision/dental (well...it actually never got set up like it was supposed to ... but im supposed to be getting it in april)...a lil bit off my pay, and i'll have to start over at a new job

im looking at gaining an awesome hair-do that will double as a spiritual journey, more time (new job starts as part time...which will also let me pick up a second part time job and ultimately earn more money), and a more physical job rather than one full of paperwork...also i work in payday loans currently, which isn't what i want to be doing...i hate seeing the failing economy first hand

definitely see if they'll let you do your own hair style as long as you're wearing headgear! maybe you can even get a tam specially made with the company logo! (what is this job that you like so much if you dont mind me askin?)

    Yea :)

Oh, it's not something you would do! I'm 15 years old, and it's a job where i help in a kitchen at a restaurant :)

It's well payed for my age, and it seems like a nice social job ;)

ya...im not sure where you are...but here in texas there's only a rare few places that will hire 15 year olds...so i can understand that completely...

(and you're right, it's not something i would do...i hate working w/ food...my time at sonic during high school was enough to teach me that!)

    I have another question:
I have very thick hair, does that mean that my dreads get longer than normally or do i only get more dreads than thin haired people? :)

    I dont have dreads yet

depends how thick the dreads are 'made'

if you make lots of thin ones.. you get lots of thin ones..
