I can't remember it perfectly, read it few years ago. But I loved it. I was really impressed by Dostoevsky's writing. Next one I wanna read is Crime and Punishment.
    Anyone else read it?

I read it, but I liked Crime and Punishment much more... it's the only book i've read wholly in two languages (once in Russian and twice in english), and read parts of it in Spanish and Hebrew. It's a wonderful book... better than the religiously themed Brothers Karamazov.

I've been reading it for a while, but it's taking me forever, because I can never find the time to sit down and read it. I love literature from that period, though... they had a great sense of humor. I love how they wrote.

Dostoevsky is the best novelist. I think his books are the pinnacle of the form. I've read Notes from Underground, Demons (also translated as The Possessed), Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punishment, and The Idiot, and everyone of them blew me away. I have to admit that I found his books to be extremely hard to get into at first. When I first read Notes... I thought it was cool but I felt like I was missing something. A few years later I read The Brothers Karamazov and I was practically devastated by how good it is. Then I went on a big Dostoevsky kick. I returned to Notes... and that time it made sense to me. I dunno...it's like you just have to surrender to what's going on and go with it. Then you see the genius. It's like, just when you think things can't get more fucked up, they do. His pacing is pure genius, which might seem to be an odd statement considering it's easy to feel like his writing plods at times and gets boring. If you consider each moment, you realized that they're all necessary to the story and every scene is exquisitely rendered.

Oh man...I could go on and on about Dostoevsky. I think his novels are as modern as anything written today. They're timeless, like Shakespeare's plays.

I read "Crime and Punishment" and absolutely loved it.
I have "The Idiot" and "The Brothers Karamazov" sitting on my shelf beckoning to me to be read, but at the moment I'm reading "Anna Karenina" for fun and "Dune" (ick) for school so I'm rather tied down at the moment!

It is one of my most favorite books of all time and it is my favorite book by Dostoevsky, although I love all of his books.
