I love to write. I've been writing for years, and I know I want to make a life of it. I know it's the hardest road up, but I feel I'd be willing to do what it takes, yet I don't know where to start. I can't figure out what I want to do. I know how to write, I definitely have the passion for it, now what?
Ah to be young and full of dreams. Well, the best thing you could probably do is find some friends who also like writing. Like-minded people tend to go further in groups-- they can bounce ideas off of each other, give reactions, get reactions, etc. If your school has a creative writing class, take it. If there's a creative writing club, join it. If there's no class or club, make your own, and find people who want to join it. I cannot stress how good it is to have other people around you for this... when you're by yourself, it's a lot harder to have perspective. Anyway, good luck and don't give up!
Thanks a lot! I mean more of a career path sort of thing though. Getting my work out there. I've already taken creative writing, and I'm almost out of school now.
What are you writing? Fiction? Text books? Novels? Short Stories? Plays? Screenplays? Essay's? Articles? Editorials? The point is, what kind of a market are you searching for? What do you want to sell?
i'm actually in school majoring in either english, writing, or literature (depending on which 4 year school i transfer to)...i'm doing it to get a feel for each field of writing and see what i'd be interested in doing
