A question about cereal started this in my brain:
In your opinion is it better or worse overall to use honey in lieu of HFCS in prepared foods? Why?

and to answer (but leave the q ready for quoting), I'd prefer to see honey used. Yea it makes it harder for vegans, but the damage done by industrial corn to the ground, water, farmers, economic system and the end eaters of industrial corn (industrial corn is so very interlinked with factory farming/ CAFOs) makes honey a more ethical decision for me overall.

I agree with drumminmama. Also, I'd like to add that HFCS and honey metabolizes differently in our bodies. HFCS is often stored as fat. Honey has a lot of benefits. If you have seasonal allergies, then honey could help you out.

I'm guessing this from my cereal question. Or maybe I'm just full of myself. :D

I felt stupid because I figured it out like ten minutes after I got offline.
I did notice that it was in a whole lot of stuff. So you're saying it would be better to get honey of that? I didn't see anything that didn't have either.

Sorry I'm late jumping in - our computer died one too many times & we had to live in the dark-ages (computerless) for a month waiting for our tax return to replace it.

I would far rather see honey used. 'Course I'm a honey-addict vegetarian & NOT a vegan so it's easier for me to say that, but still. It's all-natural, MUCH better on the environment & our bodies... and the bees don't use it all anyway so it's more like wool than milk IMHO in that they'll just make more without too much stress rather than being FORCED into making more. ;)
    love,
    mom

agave is very good.. i like it even more than maple syrup on pancakes. it's light and not overly sweet.
