just dump salt on my head or what? rub it in? sorry i know these questions are pretty elementary, but if i dont know exactly what you mean, i'll be completely lost haha
if i could, i most certainly would

    no issues there
my hair gets noticeably oily after 2 days without washing :(

edit: not two days...like, i shower one day, skip the next, then on the day after that it's like eewwww

hestilowt - there are SO many threads about the natural method, using sea salt, washing, oiliness, etc. in this forum. Why don't you try reading around?

Well there are differences of opinion as to the sea salt solutions and the ways to go about it. You can either mix some in a bucket or something with some warm water and stick your head in, then rinse out. Or you can mix some in a spray bottle and spray it on your hair. If you get it on your scalp it may itch a little, but it shouldn't be too bad. The best solution of course is to get the real thing and go to the beach and let your hair dry in the sun, it works wonders, but if you don't live near the sea then the other options are your next best thing. I personally always used to just use it as a spray, never rinsed it out until I washed my hair. As long as you don't overdo it you shouldn't have any problems, just don't go overboard in terms of quantities and frequency.

Btw don't know if you know, but if you use the search function it'll probably throw a lot of threads on the topic. Top right hand corner when you're viewing the forum "search this forum".

Oh last thing Sea salt, not just normal salt!

Sorry didn't answer any other questions, all I'll say is long hair helps a lot, I went natural for over year and a half and didn't get one knot. I thought my hair was long enough, I'm certain now it wasn't anywhere near long enough for the type of hair I have..

    lol
sea water i should say or sea salt mixed with warter sprayed on
i never imagined anyone would justpour saLT ON THEYRE HEAD AND RUB IT IN..

thymne as a tea, sprayed on the scalp and left on will reduce oiliness
sanbd slowly going 1 day beyonme the ick till youir near a week will help reduce oiliness too washing strips oils so your scalp makes extra to replenish it..if u let it go many days before washing it produces lkess

cause there's also like 6million pages of information, and to read all of those for the few specific things i want would be frustrating :(

i hadn't noticed this yet...good info, i'll be sure to make use of this

edit: lol, i went and looked for the search function...it still took me like 2 minutes to find it...sometimes i feel really special...

and thanks SE and merrivale for the great info

haha...and i couldn't imagine that's what you meant either! but i had no clue what you DID mean...my mind works... just works a lil differently from everyone elses :)

great info here too...thanks much :)

as far as length...my bangs are (i think) the shortest part of my hair, and they're reachin down to my chin now...i think im good with the length :)

yea your good use the thyme to reduce oiliness sea salt spray gto dry it out some and give it time

as it startsclumping up just seperate 1 clump from anothrer

oh time between washings helps too u get knots after u wash that then get compressed over time..locking them in so they dont just unravel when u wash next
