Alright guys, Its been a long time in the making but starting sunday I'm going to start my vegan journey. Hopefully it is as easy as becoming a veggi was. I love to cook so i guess i'll have to start getting even more creative. Any suggestions?? (aside from the usual, beans rice & veggie dish combos :p)

ALSO, i know it's not great for me but i am a coffee drinker and was wondering if there was anything aside from soymilk that i can replace cream with ??

Congratulations! Going vegan is a great decision, and I am sure that you will be very happy you made this choice. There are so many great vegan websites to help you along your way in transitioning from veggie to veg*n. One of my favorites is the post punk kitchen. They have tons of great recipes, and a cool forum too, so you can mingle with other vegans and get all the food info you need.
As far as recipes go, there are sooo many good ones! One thing I am vibing on right now is snobby joes, like sloppy joes but they think they are cooler because they don't have any meat in them :) recipe is on that site i mentioned. I love having big kitchen sink salads with balsamic vinegar as dressing, vegan sushi is forkin fantastic...just check out that website tho and you will get more than enough ideas for fillin your tummy.
I am a big coffee drinker too, and sometimes black coffee just ain't gettin it! So when I make coffee at home I use almond milk or rice milk. Beware of the evil curdling almond milk if you make your coffee too strong like I do. Sometimes, I just have to break down and have a soy latte though...
Anyway good luck with going vegan! It is the best thing you can do for your body, for the animals, and even for the environment! You wont regret it! peace- kymba

Yeah I've had that curdling problem with different soy milks before, because i like my coffee STRONG. I also found that soy milk just wasn't very good in coffee either. I'm sure i will be fine, most of the meals i do eat are already vegan and i hadn't even noticed until recently. Considering i was quite the picky vegitarian( no eggs, milk, mostly just cheeses& the occasional yogurt), and those were usually things just to nibble on. I think this transition is going to be even easier than i had thought. I will deff check out that site though :)

    Thankz a lot

thats great! Seriously you are making a brilliant decision :). I have been vegan for about 14 months, and it is kind of hard, but you get used to it.

rice cream is lovely. Good luck!

    Blessings and tofu.

Besides going vegan I cut processed sugar out of my diet too. I'm a cream and sugar coffee-a-holic and haven't been able to find a good replacement for my coffee. Yes, my head is killing me because I can't drink black coffee. I've tried soy-lattes and soy milk and it's just not the same. If you find a good cream-replacement that you like, congrats!

almond milk is on the thicker side and tastes yummy, so maybe you can try that in your coffee?

yah ive been using the almond milk and its pretty tasty. Almond vanilla milk + splash of vanilla added to your coffee is tasty. I use a little sugar once and awhile but I find it tasty just like that as well.

    oat milk is amazing!

i have always found it really easy being vegan as if you make a 'veggie' recipe you can always subsitute eggs/cheese etc for other vegan items.

I have never heard of oat milk before. I'll look for it next time i go shopping. Yeah we have an organic store down town and I found just about every replacement i needed. I baught vegan mayo * which acts as my cheese replacement because of its creaminess* vegan butter, and of course CHOCOLATE :p mmm

Silk makes a soy creamer which is thicker than the soy milk and it comes it lots of yummy flavors.
