I posted this in the Mental Health forum, but didn't get any responses, so I'll post it here as well. There's more detail on that one, so you may as well read it, but I'm too sleepy to write a lot now. I recently got diagnosed with narcolepsy/cataplexy. Pretty much, I'm exhausted all the time, need lots of naps, and fall asleep randomly...I also have extremely vivid, intense dreams right after I fall asleep, as well as frequent sleep paralysis and weird hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations as I'm falling asleep or when I wake up. Every time I laugh hard, or get angry or upset, or feel any emotion too strongly, I have cataplexy attacks where I go into REM paralysis and all my muscles get limp which usually causes me to fall down. When I'm awake, I usually feel like I'm dreaming all day, as if there's another level of reality that exists on top of this one, and when I fall asleep, that dream consciousness just takes over. Anyway, tomorrow, I get to start taking Alertec for the sleepiness and Clomipromine for the cataplexy. Is there anyone else on here with narcolepsy, or does anyone experience any of this?
