I have a nice purple kava also called awa plant. Just chewed some root and my mouth feels like I ate some coke. anybody tried kava?
Yea, I've tried kava in every way possible(root powder, extract, the whole 9 yard) and the only thing ive noticed is slight sedation...so don't try getting screwed with it since it just wont work. not too bad or great, just worth trying every once in a while.
haha! i love these plants! ive tried kava i chewed on the stem., and kept ripping leafs out for the stem take more pictures~~
you need to do more lol. try going to fiji and joining their ceremony of drinking kava. you will be high as a kite! you end up drinkin over half a gallon of the stuff. and its the freshest roots pulverized into a pulp in front of you.
Best kava is from Vanuatu hands-down. It builds up in your system over time so the more you drink the more effect you get.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ yea now u see that bowl right there? well they fill it up multiple times depending on how many ppl are there!
Both my roommates are polys, so we usually mix it up about once a month. I love being kava drunk, lol.
Probably is. It takes a bit of kava drinking to get it down. but trust me once you get the preparation / dosage / stuff right, it's worth it. I'm talkin' about the root powder of course, never tried any other way and don't plan on it. I've got a pound of Fiji kava root powder and 4 ounces of Vanuatu root powder and in my opinion, the Vanuatu kava is better than the Fiji kind, although it is also less expensive. I've never had Hawaiian so I can't say where it compares at on the scale.
I've had mixed results with Kava. I've got some premium root powder and it's pretty effective. A few things that research/experience have taught me: The active components are lipid soluble, so you want to mix the root in something likea milkshake, you don't want to make a tea. You dose in ounces, not grams or milligrams. It takes a lot, so it's best to make it up in a sweet shake to get it all down. It inevitably keeps me up at night, even though it's heavily sedating. You only want to ingest the root. There are chemicals in the rest of the plant which can damage the liver long term. I would start with an ounce of powered, mixed into some sort of coconut shake with cocoa and spices maybe. Good luck. One more thing, I get this "curry" taste smell that seems to linger in my nose for hours after drinking it. Not bad, but you keep wondering where it's coming from and if anyone else thinks you smell like a Sri Lanken grocery.
