Ok so for whoever is willing to listen. *cough* I'm a 19 year old soldier in the Army. Right now I'm on leave for 2 weeks. Last time I was on leave I asked out on a date a girl I had been talking to for quite some time over myspace (yea gay I know). Anyways I would always write her messages and stuff and we talk about stuff I usually can't talk about with any other girl like science, philosophy, culture, history, other stuff. So when I came home on my last leave I called her and asked if she'd like to spend time with me. She's 16 (17 in like 2 weeks). I just thought it'd be nice to come home take a nice girl out for a night and just you know spend some time with someone cool. Well the more we talked the more we connected. It's just because we're both these really wierd people, the same humor, a lot of the same "ideals" both had bad childhoods, similiar personalities etc etc. Pretty much we hit it off. She's never had a boyfriend before, not because no one has asked her out but because she is so picky, surprisingly she said yes to me. I asked her why and she said because I'm so interesting, and I can say the same about her. Im not only her first boyfriend, but I gave her her first "real" kiss. Even now when I kiss her it's akward sometimes because I can tell she's nervous and doesn't really know what to do. I think it's really cute but yea that's besides the point. Ok so my main point is, she's never played the field. And I feel bad because I'm a soldier about to deploy to Iraq when this leave is up, and I feel like I'm leaving her behind. She's never played the field before, but at the same time I have and I know what I'm looking for in a girl. She seems to have it all plus some of what I'm looking for. I've talked with her best friend and she seems to feel the exact same way about me. I'm just wondering what are y'all's opinions on this whole situation? I'm planning on telling her that I think we should stay in a relationship, but if ever she likes another guy and wants to give it a shot, she can. I can't really blame her you know? I'm leaving, she's never played the field, she's still young. I realize I'm taking that risk, yea it would hurt me but I mean I've had worse endings to a relationship. Not to mention it will be like a test for us. I mean if we both can stay true to each other through a deployment. . . that's a pretty big thing and it will make me trust her that much more. I don't know, so what do you guys think?
i think maybe you should just.. try it out.. you never know what can happen and how things can happen...
Long distance is hard and can be tough to work it out. How much longer do you have left to serve? I'd say if it's less than 6 months, go for it. If not... Honestly I think it's a bit selfish to ask her to "wait" for you. If you both are willing to try then go for it. But it seems like you don't know each other too well yet and things might be really different once you're together.
definitely talk it over with her. express your concerns, thats very important and it will make her feel important in your life.
like said above... talk to her about it and see how she feels about it, if she'd like to give it a shot. i don't see why not. seems like you are both capable. it's one of those hard things, but i've gone through it too (never thought i'd be okay with it after awhile) but still going strong...
Long distance relationship at 19? Dude, I can't emphasize this enough, but FUCK THAT SHIT! Go dip your wick into some of that foreign shit. Best way to clear your mind...and your pipes.
Tell her but don't stop the relationship ! See what is going on, the future never give us the answers before, so just tell her !
