ok so I was wondering if it was possable that a condom can give you a UTI.

I never got uti's before I started having sex but in the short time I've been sexully active I gotten 3 of them.

Then I started taking the pill and we have been going without condoms and just using "the pull out method" for our second method of birth control and since we wernt using condoms I havnt had any problems with tract infections.

    BUT....

I miss my birth control pill 2 days ago and so we decided to play it safe and use a condom. and we have used condoms twice since then and now I have a UTI AGAIN!!!

It has to be the condoms right?

I mean I'm careful with everything else.
I pee after sex and I drink lots of water during the day, so what else could it be?

has anyone else had this problem?
I dont have an allergy to latex but i was wondering, could it be an allergy to the lubricant that is on the condom?

it probs could be the lube on it......
are you positive that you don't have a allergy to latex?
If you are positive about the allergy, and you don't like the idea of the pill, you might need to buy several different types of condoms that don't have lube on them.

    Maybe wash up after sex?

PEE after sex. Women hav a very short urthea and bacteria and such get up there and can quickly migrate up the tract. Peeing after sex, flush the nasties right out of there.

Very common problem, and very easily solved.

Also, drink cranberry juice or take a cranberry supplement. That, plus peeing post-sex, has prevented UTIs for me.

Of course take all of the precautions one should take to help prevent a UTI (pee before and after, and all of the other things that are TMI to type). Sounds like you know all this already. But I think it seems like some people tend to be more prone to them than others. I would try taking a cranberry supplement every day. It should help a lot with preventing getting them. The cranberry supplements are also better than drinking cranberry juice because you get a higher concentration (plus, it's easier to keep on hand and take with you wherever you go).
