    Hello there,

I really need to share my happiness with someone!:) Finally, I'm going to London, UK! I always wanted, but never decided to go! But now... Yay!:) I'm so excited.

What are your plans for summer?:)

Yay indeed. London is a nice city, depending on what you're after. I'm going to assume shopping and clubbing, in your case. Too big for me, though, and neither of those things appeal to me so I my visit was just above average.

I'm sure it's a lot better in summer though, I was there a few weeks ago and it was coldish.

Plans for summer? Work, work, and chillout time in the park.

Why do you assume, in MY case, I'm after shopping and clubbing?

For your information, I wanna visit typical tourist places, then The Rolling Stones places (some of them), then my man wants a day in book stores and then visit my ex-classmate who lives there.

Cool. I made the assumption because you're young, and female. The young females I know who've gone to London, have gone there for shopping and clubbing.

The typical tourist things were fun. I liked the Tower a lot, make sure you do the guided tour if you go - the Yeoman warders are funny bastards.

Why would they do that...? I can shop and club at home, can't I?:D

Tower - guided tour, ok. Thanks :)

Yay, I can't wait! It seems silly cause many of you have probably ever been to London, but I always dreamed of going there but no one wanted to go with me cause most of my friends prefer vacation as lying at the sea and eating and clubbing. Well, ok, but not every year..:)

Fuck if I know, I guess the shops and clubs are bigger...? Again, those things aren't for me.

It does have a lot of history, this city, and interesting sights, but I'll throw my lot in with your friends.. except for the clubbing part. I'll take a beach, preferably on a tropical island, over any city, any day of the week.

Good for you, though, if it's always been a dream it's going to be good no matter what. It's important to chase your dreams.

    Yeah, I guess so. :D

Yes, I always wanted to go and now.. yay :) Honestly, I also love sun/sea/drinks/clubs/parties vacations, but I had this kind of vacation last year, this year is the year of an "intellectual" vacation.:cheers2:

Sweet Fuuunia! Actually some friends and I are planning to hit up London sometime in the spring next year. I was just wondering how long you are staying and how much spending money you're plan bring?

Hope you snap some pics of the London Bridge and Big Ben, those are the first tourist attractions I want to stop at when I visit. Well you still have 5 months until you set out so you should be excited for a while.

Hey hi! :) I'm not staying for a long time because of the school; we're staying for two weeks and how about the money.. Umm.. :) I just bought my plane ticket for 2500,- (in Czech crowns) = cca 88 pounds, we plan on staying in hostel = cca 180 pounds = the rest depends on money I earn during the summer. :D

On the 5th of April I head back to Alaska on a 65 foot boat for most of the summer. I think we got about 450,000 pounds of fish to catch. But we're still have way planning on going to Prague for Christmas

Nice...London for 50 euros roundtrip, plus lots more once you are there. Expensive as hell once you are off the flight.

£88 isnt €50.. more like €100, the exchange rate is the other way round ;)

And enjoy London - I highly recommend the british museum, the natural history museum, the science museum and the British Library. All of those are free, in case you run out of money :p

Yay for you! That's awesome! I'm sure you'll have a great time, and what an experience!

Summer plans? A whole bunch of lazy days, and oh am I ever looking forward to it. The kids home from school, sunshine, warmth, trips to the park, picnics, swimming, cook outs, barefoot in the beautiful green grass soaking up the rays of the sun, our yearly summer trip to the cottage on the lake for a week. I can't WAIT for summer!

    Ooh that's exciting.

I've been to London a few times but I'm really no help with sight seeing.
I would say though, anything you buy on flight will probably be overpriced.

    Oh I know, but,
I did not see her mention the 88 pounds the first time.

You shouldn't be paying more than 50-60 euros for roundtrip from anywhere in Europe to London these days with all the low cost companies, if you have a lot of luggage. If you can make due with less luggage and 10 kg of carry on (easy if it is a week of travel or so) and online check in, 20 euros roundtrip or less is not unheard of. One girl I talked with got roundtrip within Europe for like 2 euros once. Love those lowcost companies.

Um, well but your experiences, Carlfloydfan, are from the UK or the US. I'm from the Czech rep., you know.. Flights Prague-London London-Prague aren't cheap, I know it, I googled a lot. Or do you think I wouldn't want to save some money?

Oh and thanks everyone, and thanks for the tips :)

Hippychickmommy, what a wonderful summer you're going to spend :)

    Not from London.

The 2 euro one was Italy-Spain.

I know lots of people are against ryanair. but if ryanair or easyjet doesn't have that flight (kinda surprising) I use to use this resource that listed all the low cost companies in Europe. Lemme try to track it down...
