2 opinion questions

So the only time I ever did acid was 3 years ago and I only had 1 hit. Lets just say for some reason its been impossible to get acid but its available this week.

1- Should I go for 3 tabs of acid or candyflip and take a bomb and 2 tabs?

2- Would it be safe if I took 3 tabs alone? I have friends I could do it with, but I think being alone would be much more meaningful and deep.

 

what is your experience with psychoactives?

if you feel you can handle a candy flip id say go for it.

And you could take three tabs alone, but i always find it better to trip with friends. I mean, dont get me wrong, im always down for an introspective cid trip.

I don't suppose anyone told you how many micrograms in a tab? In my day, this information was given and we considered 100 mcg to be a standard hit and anything over 200 was considered a spiritual event.

I do not think that inexperienced trippers should ever trip alone.

 

i've read "standard" hits these day usually range from 50-100μg, but nothing is garaunteed. it's pretty uncommon anymore (in my limited experience) to come across somebody making claims about the dosage, as it gets sold and resold so many times that it is usually so far removed from its origins at the time of purchase that nobody knows. those that claim to know are either pretty close to it's origin and/or have nothing but hearsay to base their claim on. unless you know for fact that the person from whom you are buying it knows the chemist (unlikely) or the person who bought it from the chemist, there really isn't enough to go on to believe a specifical dosage quoted to you.

i know it used to be very common to know, with relative certainty, how much acid was in a hit of what you got, but those days are mostly gone.

uncertainty of dosages, along with the long comedown, high price, and scarcity, are among the reasons i greatly prefer mushrooms, which i can dose accurately, obtain for very little money, and could grow virtually whenever i felt like it (though not at present as i'm in a dorm). mushrooms also have a much shorter, more comfortable and less jittery come down, and i prefer the effects as well.

i also don't think "inexperienced" trippers should trip alone, but i've never had a problem with it. my first trip (mushrooms) was alone, as well as my first times with LSD, 2C-B, DXM (yuck, never again), LSA, etc. i prefer tripping alone and handle it better. many people do not. if this person is considering taking 3 hits, or 2 hits and an ecstasy pill, then i'm hoping they're experienced enough to handle tripping alone. then again, if they have to ask........

only time will tell, but in my experience most people i know don't want to have a spiritual trip. they want to get "fucked up" and play video games or watch tv and eat snacks and smoke weed. this is the main reason i prefer tripping alone.

 

Interesting post. In my day, we didn't do any of those things when tripping. Speaking for myself, it was either a personal journey of spiritual discovery or it was a Grateful Dead concert.

 

lol if only my gen had the dead shows to go to. we have other shows for sure. but my gen is all about the damn tv and video games. most of my friends who trip never wanna go out and explore the beauty of this world. so sad

 

its one of the reasons LSD dosages are so much lower than they once were. apart from greed, more and more people take it to get really high than to get a full blown psychedelic experience

 

I noticed around 1987 that the doses were getting lower. That's also when I noticed that young people were drinking alcohol at Dead concerts -- something I never noticed before. I blame the War on Some Drugs, mostly.

It's a terrible shame that people are taking acid just to get "fucked up". Are they aware of the history of LSD? The Merry Pranksters, Bear, and Timothy Leary?

 

to some extent, though "bear" would be thought of as obscure (at least by that name)

personally i'm not a fan of the dead. and while kesey and some of his cohorts were good authors, i have little to no respect for the antics of the merry pranksters. similar in regards to leary, but less so. at least while i think he behaved foolishly and got carried away, there was at least some kind of meaningful point to it.

i have more respect for the likes of terrence mckenna, though his celebrity is more recent and less of a household name than timothy leary was in his time.

but as for the history of LSD, it's awfully sordid....we can't pick what history we wish to remember. keep in mind things such as MK-ULTRA. as for the hippies, the good and bad are both present, and having not been there it's hard to pass judgment, however i will say i think they're glorified a bit beyond what is reasonable.

still, people need to treat psychedelics with far more respect than they currently do. its a shame, but my generation is simultaneously extremely nihilistic, materialistic and capitalistic, and they generally dont care for much that doesnt make them money, which is not directly observable, or which requires some sort of ideals or beliefs.

its easy for me to criticize the hippies and accuse them of lacking direction and understanding, but i have to realize its a broad generalization, and my generation as a whole is far worse in these respects anyway.

 

hippie can be a general term nowadays. Back in the 60's as I remember, I think it meant something more to be a hippie.

 

Well, sure. To be a hippie was to be "hip" or possessing of some knowledge that straights didn't have. Like to be "hip" about the real reasons for the Vietnam War.

 

getting back to the origional question---1. i wouldnt candyflip unless your going to a show or somethin and 2. dont trip alone, dont be a loser i mean you just have to trip with friends. and i think your more likely to not enjoy your trip if your alone.

I went to about 50 Dead concerts and I'd be happy to tell you about them, but they covered the time period 1973-1994 and they weren't all the same -- not at all.

 

start a new thread in the psychedelics part. id love to hear some dead stories! my mom made it to some shows but didnt really appreciate them at all.

 

this is closed minded and foolish. as for the part about not enjoying it as much, its totally subjective and varies from person to person.

for me its not at all about enjoying a trip, its far more about the experience, whether pleasant or not. i get very little out of tripping with people unless i have a deep love for them, i have to be able to allow myself to immerse fully in the trip. but whether looking at it from the angle of having a meaningful trip or having an enjoyable trip, both are more likely when i trip alone.

I don't find my own self-worth or security in others. I'll trip with select people (not just "my friends") but I prefer to trip alone.

 

nesta, your post hit it HEAD ON! I have tons of friends who like to "trip", but very few who actually appreciate all that psychedelics have to offer on a more personal and mental level, let alone the history of the "LSD Movement" of days past.

I personally enjoy partying, but I hate to taint good acid with other substances. I enjoy most psychedelics individually in their own settings, and times. And tripping alone is a wonderful, mind opening event. I am a firm believer that the only thing you have to fear of tripping alone, is that you're not comfortable with yourself... I've learned more about myself dosing solo, than I have in all of my years with others.

I highly recommend a solo flight!

I have actually been thinking about doing this...How have your experiences been with this?...I think i might actually enjoy it more by myself, not sure tho
