I have an Epiphone Sheraton II (basically a gibson 335) and as you hopefully know its a semi-hollow body. I was wondering how active pickups would sound in it. maybe they would pick up more of the tone of the body resonance, and I guess just more tone in general. I'm not really sure because even though I've been playing guitar 12+ years I haven't really messed around with pickups a whole lot. Any responses are certainly appreciated.

I suggest that you play your guitar thought some different amps. I tried to alter the sound from a solid body to get less resonance and with three tries I didn't happen. ART made a solid state called an 80/80 powered processor which is very versatile. It kind of has different personalities. They're not like a classic Marshal with choices in between more or less bass or tone. If you are using effects sometimes they will give you a tonality that you can't get rid of unless you remove them, not bypass them. To the best of my experience you won't be able to alter the natural sound of your instrument unless you structurally alter it. The pickups mostly just transfer its characteristics. Another thing you can try is an Ultra Fex Pro by Behringer or a Peavey Cosmos or something of the like. You can use it like a regular effect although sound people assume that it isn't meant for it hence it won't work.It does. I spoke to the Dimarzio people and although very nice, the guy I spoke with didn't have the understanding to help. Unless you are mostly satisfied with your sound I don't think modifying your guitar is the answer.
    Good luck!
