I've just started meditating. I love how I feel so amped up and totally relaxed at the same time after I'm done. But I've been having this weird sensation everytime that I meditate. I feel it right at the center of my forhead. It feels like something pulling my inside out and something sucking the inside in. That's the best way that I can explain it. It's not a bad feeling, quite the opposite. It's right before I start to get a pretty euphoric feeling. But shortly after that I sense something and when I go to reach for it I lose all concentration. I don't know if you can understand what I'm saying. It's really hard to put all of this into words. I hope someone understands it. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this before. Does it mean anything?
It sounds like you need to get familiar with the chakras. The third eye chakra is in the middle of the forehead. It is normal to have different-than-you've-had-before feelings in this area during meditation.
your third eye is basically developing from the universe energy when u focus on that point. its a good thing. but dont do it to much. its like working out, u dont want to overstress it. its also known as the third eye chakra. look it up and find some information on it. its an interesting subject. when thats open you get your physhic gifts. but it can take as long as a month or years down the road before you can activate it. good luck =)
this happens sometimes in the forehead after I meditate. its pretty strange, the thing to do is just be aware of it.
This happens to me quite often, it's happening right now actually. When it began it felt like a fault line, like my head was splitting in two. It's calmed down a lot since then, my energy in general is a lot less intense, but it has moved to cover my whole forehead up to the crown, sometimes all at once, sometimes in specific locations. This has happened over a few years, perhaps I'm making slow progress? Lately it moved to the center of my chest, sometimes it feels like there is a pressure inside, it's quite a nice feeling, whereas when my third eye started it was razor sharp. From my own little experience it's a very good sign. Work with it, but take it easy, your bodies energy knows where it needs to go, just like your how your heart beats and you blood flows by itself. I would add that if your not working with a teacher perhaps try and find somebody you trust, who you can talk, who can offer advice, help you avoid anything unhelpful and more so help you make diligent progress.
I have not met one person in the town that I live in that is in to meditation. I'm kinda alone here. That's why I love HF so much. This is where I get my info. My experience was never painful. To me it feels like, you know on TV when someone dies and they go down that tunnel and sometimes they're racing really fast, well it feels like I would imagine that feels like. I feel like I'm being pulled through a tunnel by a thread coming out of my forehead, and at the same time my insides are sucking everything outside of me in.
Probably most likely you are sensitive to blood pressure differentials especially during meditation. Also if one decreases respiration then sometimes the breath and heartbeat come closer together and one feels slightly wavy. I have a theory that one can sense the magnetic pull from within their bloodstream, which does also relate to 'daydreaming' and sometimes the mind can stream in various directions and sense its own qualities, though not in so many words. At any rate theres a slight charge to the blood due to iron in red platelets. There's also a slight electrical charge in the nervous system. During subtle experiencing one might notice the play of electromagnetism in ones own body, and with attention it might become a more wavelike formfront due to brainwave coherence. At any rate, some experience m uch flowing feeling during sadhana others never experience that. If you are one of those who experience alot of that then I might suggest that you are a Shakta which is to say one who gives off power. At any rate I'm pretty sure this would be the Christian 'Holy ghost.'
That is what I've been told. Even before I started meditating I always had a weird BP. While I have always had a healthy BP, I'm often experiencing problems that come with high and low BPs. Light headedness and such, even though, when I have these troubles my BP stays in the normal range. A Dr. told me that I was probably just sensitive to the minor changes. Nothing to worry about. I had no idea that it could have any affect over meditation.
