I'm a vegitarian already, and im wanting to finally cut out the eggs and diary products. I talked to my doctor about this and he said it's very important i have an understanding of nutrition(like getting the right vitamins and stuff). Anyone have some websites or good books they know of for vegans? thanks
Alright well nevermind. I didnt know there was one, and i know acouple people here are vegans.... if you don't have any insight than don't post. That simple. even though many people add threads that have nothing to do with Dreadlocks.
lol how is it any different from people asking about tattoos in the dread forum? No need to be rude guys anyways, I'm not much help because i just cook out of my head. I make my own recipes, but the vegan recipe section on this site is a good start. Just make sure your incorporating a good amount of beans and nuts, and taking supplements where they're needed.
Didn't mean to be rude xD There is tonnes of info on there, helped me when I wanted to become vegan My thread is the one with the name like "AH weak vegan help" There are loads of books on amazon or something too. The key is just to take it slow and find things to eat that you are comfortable with- I cook accidently vegan sometimes, bit of coucous, pasta, baked potato etc, really easy ^^
chaos is right, people can write whatever they feel like^.^it's not as if this forum is flooded w new posts everyday! I'm planning on going vegan when I stop nursing my son, so am in the process of learning as much as I can nowthe way I see it is eat a rainbow! If you eat every colour of fruit and veg than you are getting what your body needs. I'm reading raw energy atm by Lesley & Susannah Kenton. I'm learning tonnes from it so I'd recommend it
I was a meat eater since maybe a month ago? Went vegan for 2 days, missed my cheese so been veggie since. I'm against farming, the industralisation of it and the way its about profit now adays. I've cut down my dairy intake by about 85%: I only eat cheese maybe every two days. I also buy a veggie curry which has milk in it but its only a small amount so meh. I also have soup... But again its no biggy. I believe humans are hunter gathers, oppertunistic feeders. Therefore I believe killing an animal for food is ok... But not the ill treatment, mass slaughter and waste of animals. Soo, I would happily, from a sustainable healthy river with a healthy population of wildlife and fish, catch a fish, cook and eat it. This also goes for animals on an island if I were marooned or say, I were to go on channel 4's shipwrecked Damn I love that program... xD SO I'm not labelling myself a veggie anymore, nor a vegan. However, I, when it comes to it, will be very selective about where my meat comes from: locally sourced or wild. So when I go to people's houses or a resturant I will say I'm veggie so that they won't give me meat. What do you guys think of this? Is there a name for someone who will only eat animal products if they are wild?
i want to be a viking... some girl the other wek came up to me and said i look scandanavian.... plus i must find the techno viking!
