Cool movie, I got chills first time I saw the bunny rabbit in the front yard. Interesting story/character to base a theory like time travel around.
If you have the collector's DVD you should watch the special features. There's this really funny documentary about a "super-fan".
I liked the movie the first time I saw it. I understood a lot more the second and third time seeing it. But than, watching it a few more times, I think I understood to much and it started to go down hill for me, when I finally connected everything. It was actually kind of disappointing even. I should have stopped after the second viewing instead of watching it a total of four or five times.
yeah, it was good at first, because it was ambiguous. then the more I saw it, the gayer I thought it was.
Even though it gets less mysterious/intruiging after watching it some more times and figuring things out I think it still stays an awesome movie.
A very interesting movie and also one of my favorites I recently noticed something that I didn't notice before last night. At the beginning, Donnie and his sister get into a slightly comedic argument at the dinner table. Not long after that in that same night, Frank the Bunny summons Donnie outside to tell him the exact time the world will end. While donnie is visiting with frank, a jet engine crashes into his bedroom. Donnie narrowly escapes death. Now I happened to notice something last night in the second instance after Donnie goes back in time and decides to lay in bed and await his doom. Not only is donnie's family very upset about his death and the tragic loss of their son/brother the next morning, but he dies leaving his sister twice as upset because she is ridden with guilt about her very last interaction with her brother, which was a very petty argument that could have easily been avoided. and I think this is another hidden agenda in the movie.... if you pay attention at the end of the movie, when they roll donnie's body out of the house covered with a sheet.... his sister is obviously very upset and plagued by more grief than the rest of the family by the look on her face.... sorry for the long post, just thought this was very intriguing.... This is just another piece of proof that no matter how many times I watch this movie, I can always find some different things / hidden meanings that I never noticed before.... If you liked this movie, I would also suggest checking out SOUTHLAND TALES, which is also directed by richard kelly. also, a very good movie....
I love this movie SOOO much!!! Its a movie I want to watch over and over but I try not to watch it too often
i love it...i dont watch it that often but when i do it is still great even though i have seen it quite a few times now
