for a trade I am doing with this woman on Etsy...for DOLL HOUSE CURTAINS. She wants the ties and valance and all the spiffy stuff that goes with them. Anyone ever sew minitures before? Any advice?
Wow, I'm curious to see what the doll house looks like already.... Only advice I could give... make em' like normal size, but smaller.
no, it's a trade. I don't do custom orders unless it's from a trade a for a friend...too much room for people to be unhappy. I traded her for a dog tag she made for my little cattle otter. I actually traded for all of my easter basket items too, except for candy (because I am weird about food and sanitation).
doll house curtains, probably would either be super simple or real difficult, depends on the amount of detail she expects
I am just thinking ever stich is going to have to be perfect because they are so tiny. I am making regualr curtains right now for my husband. I thought it was funny that I got asked to make tiny curtains while I am making normal ones hah.
I have a huge doll house, my grandfather made it the entire time that I was in the womb and it's stunning. The curtains in mine are lace, look just like large ones. With very tiny little pleats in them so they look like more fabric than they are.
That sounds beautiful. What a cool grandfather. Is it made out of wood? I use doll houses to play with kids a lot. It's really easy to tell they need to be removed from the home when they make 'mommy go smoke crack in her bedroom'. Did you ever see the Friends where Pheobe and Monica were competing for the best doll house?
Hmmm. Press everything before sewing, and use a small stitch length. Go slow. I might even hand-baste because pins would be a bitch.
Thank you! I never would have been able to do this on my old machine either, never even would have attempted it.
