I am disturbed that you would think that it is a girl's fault that she gets raped at party. Just because a female is drunk, it doesn't give a man (or woman for that matter) the right to assault her. What if you got drunk at a party and passed out? How would you feel if a guy raped you? Would you just say "Oh well, shit happens. It was my fault for getting drunk." I seriously doubt it. What if your girlfriend got raped? Would you tell her it's her fault cause she got drunk? Or because she wore her skirt to short? Of course men can't help themselves because she is walking around just asking for it. Bullshit.

We have moved ahead as a society! Do you rape women? If you do, that would make sense as to why you are so nonchalant about rape. If you don't, then why? Because you know it's wrong! Because you know that you have the choice.

Feminism is about fighting for equality. Which as of right now, in America, we do not have. If it weren't for feminists, we wouldn't have the right to vote. We wouldn't have laws to protect us from rape or sexual assault. We wouldn't have sexual harassment laws regarding the work place. Feminism is the belief that women should have equal political, social, sexual, intellectual, and economical rights to men.

The crime codes are a little hard to follow, but they do this to stack the charges so that they may stick better..

my guess is that it was somehow deemed that the girl's life wasnt in danger by having the baby. the catholic church is very firm on their stance that abortion is justified if the mothers life is at risk.

I don't really consider myself a feminist, because I'm perfectly happy and content where I stand in my life and feel like I've personally got equality in all aspects, but I am giving you a huge high five for this post. While I may not be a feminist per say, I still applaud the efforts of the women who feel like they are not treated equally and those who just want to fight to keep the equality they do have. the catholic church as an institution has failed this girl. i do know of several catholic ministers and nuns, who have gone againist the dogma of the church and, done the right thing for a person in secret and, that includes sending young girls to doctors for an abortion.
as an institution the catholic church is shit. (as are almost all institutions.) yet, inside every institution there are people who do the right thing, even if it conflicts with the institution. it is these people who make an institution and, the world keep running. without them, the world would grind to a halt. i wonder if a catholic minister or nun directed this girl to a doctor? if one did, i hope they are not found out!
