What kinda wax did you use. And congrats on cutting, it will be a huge weight off your shoulders (literally)
What's with all the pro cutting? Wax may be bad, but it's not as terminal as some people like to think, it will wash out, and that's about 1x10^6 times better than cutting your hair off. If you want to be paranoid about it then try and brush them out and wash it, but cutting is a bit OTT in my opinion.
If you used straight up beeswax good luck getting that out, but if its some kind of dreadwax, it should wash out without too much hard work.
I had a friend a few years ago that used surfboard wax to try and get dreads... that was a fun week trying to get that out.....lol The point is that its better to try and get *most* substances out of hair before an acual cutting takes place....(last resort)...
im still gona i want to do the neglect route im in three months to the dreading process so i dont think that combing out is a option
3 months is nothing a good freind used alotta wax and combed hers out after almost a yewar.. it took weeks to do it but it sure beat cutting, u wull hasve to grow out the length to go neglect that will take much more time tgo comb em out ..saturate ekj with conditioners..then pick at the tips slowluy working upwardssa like a milimeter at a time....its slow work and u will go through several bottledes of conditioner, but if u manage to save inmjches or more of hair your gionna be of the game when u redread naturealy i reallty dont think u should curt..take the timeto comb em out then maybe trim away the most dammaged parts then go neglect wax is evil shit and very very hard to remove, but if u comb em out theres nowhere for it to hide so it will be much easier a few washes with a clarishampoo should get every laswt biot oiut when theres no knots to hold it.. perhaps heat from a blowdryer while saturated in conditioners and combing oit gently the liquified wax may actualy help u get it out and possibly the wax is binding the hair enough and slowing downb the actual drewading enoughyu that melting ot out combined with the conditioninmg and all will actualy makle it semi easy to comb.. (theoreticly, hard to guess though what the actual rewsults will bve) just the more hair u can save..the better off you'll be and 3 mo ths waxyt isnt really gonna be all that truly dreaded..
I really wouldn't cut, if you comb 'm out your hair will dread up much faster, because it's probably a little damaged.
hi! my first set were 8 months and waxed to fuckery and back.. took 6 hours to comb out with help from my mom & sister my second set were 6 months, and even more waxed to fuckery and buggery and back, took 3 days to comb out by myself.. 3 months is nothin mate, give combing a go
oh and knotty boy do a 'dread removal kit'.. its just super intensive shampoo & conditioner, and yes it does work. failing that, use a helluva lots of anti-grease things, and conditioners, and comb it a section at a time, picking the knots out
thanks guys for your suggestions but i think im still gona cut i dont mind waiting for a couple of years im only sixteen gotta lot of life and experiences ahead of me just dont want to damage the hair even more
Very good point. I thought growing dreads was also a lot about patience so why is everybody urging him to comb his dreads out so it'll take shorter time to grow a new set?
thank you tassefras i do have a good point:cheers2: so anyways ill try to post this set and then me baldness
Because we assumed he wanted to start growing dreads as soon as possible and combing would have been alot quicker than cutting
i would want to grow dreads asap but i say what the heck its gonna take time any way i do it thanks guys
