I have a problem with digital photos - some of them are getting corrupted. They come out half grey. I can't figure out where they are getting corrupted since sometimes they look ok in the thumbnails and then when i go to look at them or upload them somewhere they are half grey. Do I have a bad SD card? Is there a software fix?

I can't tell you for sure, but if I were you I'd be suspect of the SD card. Have you any others to try?

Some SD cards can be too slow for cameras. The SD card may have bad spots in it's memory, but it may actually be too slow for what you're trying to do with it.

Buy a new SD card that has fast write times. It will cost you but your pictures will come out looking better than you ever thought possible. I've had the same problems with 3 digital cameras. I replaced the SD and CF cards with fast, quality cards and pictures are crystal clear.

What happens is, the camera takes the image and sends it to the card. The card accepts the image but it writes it to memory a lot slower than the camera sends it. This means not all the digital image data makes it to the card and so quality is lost in transmission.
