A day ago I made a ceremony. I had never done so before. Lit a candle, burned some sage ,moved the directions of the suns path while encirling myself with protective light. And expressing my intention to assist lost souls at any point in dying. also asking my authentic spirit guides to come to me. Moments after the conclusion I looked up to meet a small brown bat looking for a spot to land in my room. Wow.Would value thoughts on any of this.I am fairly amazed.Bat medicine? Thanks
Wow...Transition and Initiation...Cycle of Power: Nightime...In Babylonia bats represented the souls of the dead. In China, symbols of happiness and long life. To the ancient Mayans they represented initiation and rebirth. Bat reflects the traditional Shamans death-the breaking down of the former self through intense tests. It is a facing of your greatest fears-that it is time to die to some aspect of your life that is no longer suitable for you. The bat has a medicine that awakens great auditory perception. It awakens the ability to hear Spirit. Those with bat as a totem will also find that they have an increasing ability to discern the hidden messages and implications of other peoples words. The bat is powerful medicine. It can be trying but it always indicates initiation. The above was taken from the book "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews. There's alot more - about two and a half pages - see if you can get hold of a copy. Amazing isn't it? to get answers like that immediately. Powerful. Find out all you can about working with Bat....windy
I remember last year i was rambling on for a while about the things people say to me, as if they were giving me messages from the parts of my being/ or the totality which those people would symbolically represent to me. It's like they're telling me things that they don't know they're telling me. I still find it quite intriguing and it still happens but not as mutch as those several months last year. - I think it's got to do with not just 'how' you listen to people but whether you're paying attention to what they say and actually considering their words in a symbolic way, as if those words actually come from within yourself and not from another. But i think to listen in such a way also demands that you see yourself and others as not separate from eachother. That time was around the time i was paying alot of attention to what Eckhart Tolle had been saying about the body (the physical body ...the separate body) being a symbol. - Heck I'll just quote the section again seeing as it's so good ...and very fundamental as far as our physical reality is concerned. -This "invisible inner body" though, this formless and eternal body is the body we all share and the body we all are ... it's just one thing and at a stretch i'd say it was the universe, and to see the physical body as a symbol of that brings sacredness to our physical lives. I know from experience that when i've hurt others, I'm usually the one that ends up getting hurt the most and that experience alone has been a great teacher of oneness ... not to see others as separate somehow. So anyway, back to the funny messages ... the messages from others ...from oneself, from the universe.
hmmm..."an increasing ability to discern the hidden messages and implications of other peoples words" from my understanding meant to be able to see or sense other peoples hidden agendas...to be able to see if they come from a place of truth to read the words between the words?
I had a good bat experience a couple of weeks ago. Windy ... i think it's like the sonar thing ... like a sixth sense when it comes to fathoming what someone is about and that doesn't stop at the things people say but their 'way' and their behaviour and attitude generally. And it's naturally instinctual for humans to have this ability of course ... to get their measure of another person. I guess some have a deeper and keener perception than others, ... the mind and it's tendency to 'embellish' reality can be a bit of a hindrance to getting a clear picture though. I guess i was talking about something a little different, granted, but still along the same kinda lines of reading between the lines. I think it's also rare to find someone who comes from a place of truth ... most people have some agenda or another. I know that alot of the time in my own daily life i only touch on what i'd call truth and act from that place and speak from that place, only at times. Yet even if people aren't coming from a place of truth, it doesn't mean the truth is not there, as if these people are 'fake' or something. The truth is always there just that one may not realise it.
Yes,it is the path itself which is interesting. The opening up to shifting perspective. Facing the fears of the small mind. The bat moves from a small sheltered space of safety to open air at the right moment each day.Finding its sustenance and performing its function with a sense that is not one we share.Seems like trust, faith. As for knowing the truth in others it is always there. Some amuse themselves or feel so trapped by fear that they become adept at rearranging the illusion of this life. Thanks
