(maybe if i buy a thing of cucumber seeds they won't notice :) )

Buy a real grow light. Pay cash and you won't have to worry about it.

Yep pay cash and never hand over your real name and address if required to set up an accounts. If you know what your looking for lights (2000k 4000k 6700k) that can grow plants and not just weed can be found virtual anywhere so would say no its impossible to monitor all sources.
Yep the eco lights with the twisty bulbs work but there effective light range is very short meaning you have to have them closer or use more bulbs.

just a cheap way to get hps or mh lights. your power company has lotes of them that go bad.they just thow them in a big dumpter and about 6 mounth worth build up and off they go to well wearever. but if u ask for them they will let you get as many as u wount. anywhere from 75wts to 1000wts are in there. now this ant for someone who cant do handy work are.the 1st one i got i was lost as hell but after a few tryes i got it right.now i can take every pic apart and build a new one from 2or 3 of them just takes some time. i found that most of the time its the compasitor thats bad the ballest really last.well i guess this ant for everyone but it works for me.iv made atlease 7 400wt hps and 2 1000wt hps. 2 400wt mhs.

besides the fact that i cant understand half of what you said, it seems that you reccomend fixing broken light bulbs?please, use your money on a quality bulb or a large array of 23w (100w equiv)flourescents (the curly ones).

But Butterbean! there's a reason why they throw old bulbs away.....

MH and HPS need to replaced (in the grow room) after a years use due to wear, just because a bulb lights up doesn't mean it has any growing properties left, this is over simplified for simplicity!>D

In my experience, floro's don't last that long, just replaced 2 T-5's after 6 months!>O

im sorry yall i wasnt talking about bulbs. your local co-op throws there night lights away if a bulb wount burn in it,they dont even try and fix them.iv worked powerlines for years and just about every1 does it.atlease here in the southeast anyway,i know this ant for everyone its just the way i made all mine. iv been lucky not to have to buy any lights,i know they are the most expensive thing of a grow and if i could id get all the old lights and redo them just to send to people so they could save some mony. these are the lights that hange on light poles,or telephone pole, wallmart parking lot etc---

^@ butterbean (and anyone considering repairing a ballast):

kepp in mind that these ballasts are running high power (400-1000 watts), and can sometimes send an initial spark that is even greater. Only repair them if you TRULY, FULLY understand what you are doing. and for the love of god, take a few steps back before plugging it in to test it.
