I can't keep up

with the sewing. I don't know what to do. I have all these orders and NOTHING is turning out right. This is the third time I have tried to make these coasters and the fabric is really expensive and I am totally wasting it.
Then I look at the list of orders I still have to fill and it's freaking overwhelming.
What's overwhelming you these days?

Why are you here instead of getting caught up?

 

Because I just sewed a shitty set of four coasters in designer fabric I can't get at a discount for the fourth time and they are crooked for the fourth time and the corners aren't amtched up for the fourth time and I can't change the needle on my new sewing machine. the screw won't budge.
I am very frustrated.
I woke up, got a latte and got ready to go and catch up and it's not turning out to be the happy and productive day I pictured while laying in bed this monring.

 

and then I am frustrated because there are still some people who have recieved their orders, but haven't left feedbacka dn I always stress out and think everyone is unhappy with what I sent. It's just a lot more sressfult than what I thought.

I've learned an important lesson in life that I try to share with others: when something is difficult - give up.

 

I just want to get it done. I just measure some things out and I accidentally did it in centimeteres instead of inches. I am really about to cry.
I think ia m going to clean up and smoke a bowl. Maybe strating over, stoned in a clean house is the ticket.

 

I contemplated refunded everyone's money and only sellign what I already have made adn then closing down, btu I have so many materials.
I think I may close my store after I use up everything I bought for it. I am not sure.

 

Pay somebody else less than you're making to sew the shit for you.

There's apparently no jobs available, so I'm sure plenty of old ladies need work. haha

 

No!!! Stuff on Etsy has to be handmade by the seller. Some people cheat and we all know who they are and don't think a lot of them.
If you want to be a big designer then Etsy's not the place for you. If you just need constant praise for your work because you have no girlfriends near by and are competitive it's great.
It's definitley interesting...even stronger personalities than on here.

Sounds kind of what I went through over the holidays with our massive clothespin cookie orders. OMG, working with that dough is a total bitch. You have to get it just so, the shortening ratio and distribution has to be just right or it falls right off the rod, crumbles. Plus, the type of sheet you bake it on makes a world of a difference. You have no idea how many wasted batches we had to toss.

We've got it down pat now though, but can't give out the secret. Except I'm somewhat dreading next holiday season because we had a request from an actual bakery that wants to buy some of our cookies from us, clothespins being one of them. The owner sampled some of ours at a party and really liked them, asked to speak with me about purchasing from us. Pretty cool! And they go through a lot of cookies there at the holidays. I have a feeling we're going to be pretty overwhelmed, no doubt. Ah, but we'll get through it, it'll all work out.

That's what you've got to tell yourself too. Take a deep breath, think, okay, this overwhelming feeling is only temporary, you're stronger, you can do anything, and this too shall pass. Hey, that's what I have to tell myself when things get crazy. It helps!

Nothing is really overwhelming me at the moment thank goodness. But it doesn't take much to get me that way. Haha!

At the moment we have, I believe, 20 different types? Plus we do cakes, cupcakes, gourmet cheesecakes, some candy (like fudge and buckeyes), and we're thinking about doing pies too.

We've got a little bit of everything for the most part.
