    Hey everyone,

Just wondering roughly how long it takes for loops and things to go away,
i know it's probably different for everyone's hair, but I'd like to know a rough estimate :p

wondering too,....I don't think mine will ever go away. Some of them seem far too crazy to ever smooth out and some are realli tight and hard.,

im at two years and i htink my hair might have stopped producing loops... no where near having them go away haha. but many locks that ive seen at my age are already smooth and relatively loop free, so its totally hard to say and different for everyone. it depends on how and how fast your hair locks.

and ik what you mean lux, i really cant see many of mine smoothing out.

    :( lol

I don't mind if some stay, but some are just crazy.

I put a bead over one once, and left it for a bit.
It fixed it pretty much. but im not sure if its a good way to deal with them

I was wondering the same thing, some I don't mind but every one of my "dreads" have multiple crazy loops.

I still get loops near the roots sometimes. Just tiny ones. And mine are 4 years old

I still have some of the weirdest loops I've ever seen and I've had my locks for over a year. Some have smoothed out, but I'm sure others will be there for several years. Like Pat, I get little ones near my roots, too.

I never had success with beads grass hopper. How long did you leave one on to get rid of a loop?

Also, I had a wrap once on one dread for a few months. That REALLY helped, but now that dread smells mildewy :(

my dreads always get kinda loopy, not really really bad, but some of them are retarded loopy. with my first set, after about 14 monthes, with some of the super annoying ones, i just shaved the loops off. i thought maybe my dreads would fall apart where i cut the loops, but they were fine.... probably wouldn't recommend that for young dreads though!

my sig pic is my first set of dreads at about 8 monthes old.... you can see some of the loops and lumps... i used wax with those ones, trust me, i didn't know any better, otherwise, i wouldn't have. my current dreads are about 3 monthes old and they are much tighter than my old ones were even at a year!!!

If you're lucky, never. Some of them might seem ackward now, but think to in a couple years when the new growth is all pretty smooth, but at the bottoms they flare out and get wild.

I know some douchebag with all perfect manufactured dreadhead locks who actually puts those things that hold the bag for a loaf a bread closed on his dreads where the loops are to tame them. Kind of a metal thing covered with plastic, you probably know what i mean i dont know what theyre called.

:p I sort of advice you learn to love them! they will always be there at least a little but- although I must say mine have eased up considerably over hte last 6 months they used to be pretty overbearing- I liked that though.
