I don't do anything but my dreads are crazy looking. I did a lil bit of palmrolling after my shoewer yesterday to try and smooth some of the crazy loops out. You look a lil like greengirl on here, when she had her dreads;)

Yeah your dreads look good. :) But I'm talking about having your dreads started by crocheting.

yeah i have backcombed then crochetted dreads. i know exactly what you mean by woven texture, cos i had it too. still have it a little bit but it's fading away.If you stop crocheting it will go away with time, as the hairs on the surface of the dread will start matting and the frizzies go away. i sometimes just take a dread and roll it between my index and thumb and slowly the texture goes away in time. also wash your hair regularly. I noticed it helps.

No one else seems to know the answer to this question either :p

On a serious note. I think they look fine, I kind of see what you're talking about with the woven look. I do think that'll probably go away over time through with washing and time. Good luck

my dreads were backcombed then croquetted to make them less fluffy and more tight, and for about 9months after they were first done i would occassionally croquette the loose hairs and roots to make everything tight and neat again, but then i got lazy and haven't done croquetted them since, except once for a friends wedding so everything was ultra neat!

its been almost 2 years now and the dreads are doing good, you cant tell (that i know of) they were croquetted, although i have seen some pics of roots that were croquetted and the resulting dread looking more like a braid? still looks pretty cool tho IMHO.

ill post up some pics when i charge my camera and get off my lazy ass
