hey guys, this is where i am gunna post all my dread progress. i love looking at other peoples progress so hopefully you guys are like me and would like to see mine. i am doing the natural route and washing with dr. bronner's. sorry but the pics are not the best. Day 2: Day 4 after washing with dr. bronner's (i did not dilute the shampoo): ^i guess you can consider this day 5, it just turned april 4th over here but i am still up so it is day 4 for me hah.. yeah like i said the pics are not the best. and i am pretty sure diluted is mixing the liquid bronners with water correct? well how do you guys do that? do you squirt it in your hands while in the shower then just add water into that or do you guys put it in the bottle with the shampoo or what? just let me know, thanks. New::: 2 weeks.
My hair was about your length when I embarked on the natural route. People have different methods of using Dr.Bronners. I dilute mine 11/1 in Poweraide bottle. So I add 1 part bronners too 11 part water. Look forward too seeing your dreads progress! I always thought it was you in your sig! Was quite a shock
yeah i thought that as well, but by the time dreads start to form my hair will be a lot longer, correct?
haha no thats Roger from Less Than Jake, its my favorite band =D lol yeah i am sure a lot of people thought that haha.
when you say 1 part, what is 1 part, like an ounce for example? probably not because thats a lot, but can you clarify that for me please?
well yeah, definitely. your journey will be much like this guy's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Rvy5p1Zb4 check his channel for the rest of the videos, as he's posted his progress from day 1 i think to up to 20 months. he's talking about proportions, like 1 part this and 11 parts that means 8.33% this and 91.66% that. you can make it kilograms, grams, pounds, ounces or whatever you people use there as a weight measurement unit, a.k.a. mix 1 ounce of this with 11 ounces of that, or one teaspoonful of dr.bronners with 11 of water, depending on how much mixture you want. later edit: here's that guy's earliest vid i could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iB5MzG0BAk&feature=channel hair length and texture much like yours i believe.
Alright thanks, the diluting question i asked was kind of retarded lol i was not thinking when i asked it. But yeah about the guys videos once i thought about dreads i looked the process on youtube and saw all that guys vids and liked his dreads and the progress, well thanks a lot.
My hair was that short. I spent 4 months with just unbrushed hair. So once I got to 4inchs I backcombed it.
hopefully my hair locks up faster than his does though, 20 months and his hair is not really locked up.
that's the 100% natural route, i doubt you can speed up the process if you're going the natural way. personally i went with backcombing then crocheting. no wax.
His dreads are awful. They look greasy and waxy as hell. That's the first time I've ever thought someone else's locks were awful.
for some reason, they don't look like dreads to me at all. they look like hair glued together, because they look like straight locks. like the locks are not all curlied together and stuff. i don't know how to explain it..
i know they don't look good, but they are in fact dreads, flattened because he sleeps on them, i doubt he ever bothered to palm roll them so they look all nice and round. that's why they look so glued together, cos they're flat. he uses no wax. that's why i didn't go natural. takes too damn long. that's what i'm trying to say, your type of hair, not being curly and stuff, will take long to dread, like that guy's, if you go the natural route. your hair kinda needs some encouragement , a gentle push in the right direction.
