Anyone use knottyboy? Thats what I use but I'm seeing all this stuff about Dr. Booners. What shampoo works best? Only stuff I've ever used is dreadhead and knottyboy.

They all work, but personally I'd rather support a company like Dr. Bronners rather than KB or DHHQ.

Bronner's works well for some people. It all depends on what kind of water they use and their own personal chemistry. Bronner's doesn't work so well for me (for shampoo) so I just use baking soda. It works better than anything I've ever used.

    ^^does not work.

i use bronner's tea tree liquid, i like the smell and tea tree makes my scalp feel nice.. i will get a lil lavender or rose bronners and mix it in to make it smell amazing. i wanna try baking soda, but i'm very smell-conscious and have dry hair so i like the stuff with oils

^^^^ Oh now why doesn't that work then? I'm sure there's some really simple explanation, and I can't work it out. I previewed it when I first posted it and clicked on it it worked, and now when I checked it didn't.

Anyway The link was supposed to be to all the shampoo threads. There's about 2 1/2 pages of them. If you type in shampoo into "search this forum" (near the top right hand corner of the screen on the dreadlock forum, below the thread page numbers), they'll all come up. Just to make this really clear I'll post a picture:p

It can be useful for finding old threads, or finding more threads on the topic you're looking for...

I use Australian Organic Tea Tree Oil Shampoo from Holland & Barrett. It seems to work fine for me, and it's sort of jelly-like and lasts for ages.

I was just curious cuz knotty boy makes my dreads really soft. Like when I had non dreaded bangs they looked so shiny and felt sooo soft.

I start by washing my hair with bicarb, and depending how dirty it is, I will combine bicarb with Bronners and wash it. And I always follow it with a Bronners only wash. I find it necessary to wash my hair 2-3 times to get all the buildup out. Works great though. I go two weeks between washings.
