Hmm i don't know, never tried... but I don't think it makes much difference if your hair's wet or dry. I'd put it in a spray, maybe half water half juice and sit in the sun. But it's probably not that warm in the UK, since it's freezing here in the Netherlands ghehe.

    It's like Sun-In basically.
It works whether your hair is wet or dry. You don't even HAVE to be near the sun, you can get a hair dryer and toast it into your hair follicles.
Watch out though, if your hair is dark brown/black it'll turn into a shitious brass/orange color. The lighter your current hair color is the better the result.
One summer I used half a bottle of Sun-In and went from having black hair to hair sparkled with light brown, brass, orange, and blond. People loved it.
    Hopefully I helped.

yeah my hairs pretty dark, and ive currently got a tint on it =/ i wanna dye it bright red, but i know from experience that ill hafta use realllyyy strong bleach on it to get it light enough, so i wanna try a more natural//less harmful way of lightening it

Yeah, your hair will still get dried out. Idk if it's safer, but it'll definetly will takes a while til it's light enough to add the red dye.

doesn't work with a hair dryer, people.
it's the UV in the sun that has bleaching effect. afaik the good ol' domestic hairdryer does not emit any kind of UV.

In the studio where I took my dreads, they told me to rub them in lemon juice once in a while. Not because they'll bleach, but just because it'll make them dry.

Try peroxide in a spray bottle. You don't need sun for that. After you wash your hair use aloe to condition.
