Dear NORML Supporters: NORML is pleased to announce that House Bill 277, an act to exempt qualified medical cannabis patients from state arrest and prosecution, has been introduced in the Missouri legislature. This bill has not yet been referred to a committee. If passed, this proposal would: Prohibit the arrest or prosecution of a qualifying patient who possesses a written certification for the use of marijuana for medical purposes; Prohibit a physician from being subject to arrest, prosecution, penalty, or denial of any right for providing written certification for the medical use of marijuana to a qualifying patient; Require the Department of Health and Senior Services to develop rules for governing the issuance of registry identification cards to authorized patients; Give medical marijuana patients the same rights as other pharmaceutically medicated individuals. Please take a moment today to contact your House member and urge him or her to support H.B. 277. For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to your state representative when you go here http://capwiz.com/norml2/issues/alert/?alertid=12445911. Thank you for supporting NORML's reform efforts in Missouri. Sincerely, The NORML Team
I'm glad to see people standing behind this bill....and sending the pre-written letters is a great mass plan of attack.....but... the role call that the law makers look at is the number of registered voters who contact them.....so to further the cause..register to vote if you are of age and legal to vote...and continue to flood their mail boxes, both electronically and by snail mail, we finally are standing where the people are starting to be heard in this matter...continue forward people and keep the support coming....join NORML....create local groups...anything to be heard...thanks for posting this
