There's an awful lot of chemicals. :toetap05:
To just say they're bad for you seems very generalizing to me. Just like thinking everything that's natural is better. Some chemicals are very unhealthy indeed and some can save your life. Some natural substances can let you die slowly in agony and some can give you the time of your life. :cheers2:

Teckno-hippies, what a concept! Different stocks for different forks. The beat goes on.

I've always considered myself a hippie, and holding to my hippie values I refuse to go out and spend money on hippie clothes... that stuff is not important with me, I wear what happens to be in my closest. With that said, I went to my first Rave a couple weeks ago at Beta Night Club in Denver - Booka Shade was there. I had no idea what to expect, but when I got in... it was sooooo cool! The crowds were so friendly, everybody was dancing, and the music was just phenomenal! As of late I find myself listening to more and more electronic music, esspecially digging the psychedelic and goa trance. So yeah, I can defenitley see hippies and techies uniting under a common cause - it's a beutiful merger of cultures I see a lot of potential for!

If you unit technos and hippies would that not be "Techno-Hippy"?

If your a real hippy you do not spend money on "Hippy" clothings. You make them yourself. That in part is what it is all about. It also lets you put your personal touches on your clothes.

I like electronic music, it goes well with psychedelic genre.

I've never been to a rave. That scene seems a little too fast and crazy for me. I'm not even big on the music - I doubt i could distinguish the difference between techno, psytrance, whatever. Some of the music is cool, I suppose; I just feel that it's too synthetic. Although, Jim Morrison did foresee this..

Jim Morrison was one of the first people to use a Moog live. Being synthetic seems vague, but being produced by one person is what makes it beautiful. Techno= a one man synthetic jam band

if a hippie chick and a techno dude met at a rave and "formed a union" then htey could technically call their kid a hippitech. <-- i just happen to like that name :)

i think it would be a rad idea to bring together all the hippies and techies and we could all dress however the fuck we wanted while doin it

tekno travelers!! keep the party alive!!

And BTW Jim Morisson indeed did foresee this... its quite visionary if you think about it.

There is kind of a cool underground rave going on in Europe, its more heavy and dark with tekno breakcore and dubstep, performed at free parties.

I think thats kinda cool, that the link between hippie and raver is overthere, since its more outside of the industry than a lot of rockbands. Though rock is still my roots too y'know

But seriously guys. Some people wear shorts over the top of pants. It just looks ridiculous. That's what I mean by not respectable.

There is indeed - I go to a lot of the underground raves in London, mostly either in open spaces (summer) or abandoned warehouses (winter, spring, autumn and summer when it's shit weather), and lemme tell ya - the mix of hippies and ravers and just plain ol' folks is about equal.

Doesn't matter a damn how you dress. Sometimes I go in tiedye others I have UV shirts and all that kandi stuff. The important thing is the music and the company (not forgetting the large quantities of drugs  )

Well, it does look a bit goofy. But then furry legwamers look goofy too and they seem to be popular.

hehehe some hippies wear an abnormally large amount of Patchouli oil, thats what I mean that stuff does not smell that good. That is not showing respect for others olfactory systems. Nag champa is a diff story tho. gota luv the champa. hippies rock.
