when you're talking about yourself going to the restroom? My daughter's almost 9 and I still say that. Sometimes I wonder if I'll still be saying that up until she's 20.
I say "go to the bathroom" or toilet...I only said potty when we were actually using a potty. Potty does sound more delicate though
truth,18 year old step daughter is afraid of deer and the dark and must be accompanied to the outhouse. so yes the words "you need to go to the potty?" get used just about everyday in this house with her..lol
I say it and my oldest is 9 years old, however, my twins are still 5 years old, so I don't really feel silly saying it. Yet, at least.
I still use it for myself. Ima go potty real quick, be right back. Yes I uise it amongst my adult friends while no children are present. Even pissed off one of my lady friends, beth. She said were adults here, you can use adult words. I said, nah.
LOL! Yep I still say it when no kids are around and I'm talking to adults. The other day my husband told me he had to go potty and we just looked at each other and started laughing. Like... damn.. how long we gonna talk like that? Oh well. He'll call me "momma" sometimes too, which I used to swear I wouldn't let anyone else but my kids call me. But it's just easy when you refer to the other one as "momma" or "daddy" when talking to your kids.... then pretty soon it becomes their nickname. *sigh* Do you guys know what I mean?
I call my wife momma all the time. Thats her new name. In fact when I call her KC, it rattles her. She is either baby or momma.
Haha, yeah.. I dont say it, cause my daughters only 10 months, but her mom(also has a daughter whos now 8) and she says it ALL THE TIME, esp in public... its fun when other people notice, and everyone gets a laugh at it... I dunno if I'll say potty, but we'll see!
for some reason, that sounds so Southern. on the words: I worked Ren fairs off and on for years, and I lived outside the US a bit we say "Priv," loo and WC
no never did. i told them say " i need to go to the toilet." when they went to school, i told them to say "i need to take a shit." that got the reaction i expected it to get from the teacher and school staff. we just loved giving the school assholes a hard time!
I say it all the time when I'm in 'adult only' situations. I get some weird looks like I'm the only mommy to ever walk through the doors. Lol.
i don't recall anyone ever giving me a weird look over it. for real. maybe i'm just socially unaware, but i've been saying it all my life and no one ever mentioned it or looked at me odd.
yep i say potty ALOT. but my daughter isn't even 3 yet so i've still gotta long way to go however she is outta diapers and does do the pee pee dance, which is freakin hilarious!
Yep, doesn't matter who we're talking about... the dog, the kids, the preteens & teens at church, myself, my parents - we've all gotta go potty. I'm not sure I'll ever "outgrow" that one - anymore than I'll ever outgrow being "mama" to people twice my age! It's been that way since I was 19, and it seems these nicknames are here to stay. love, mom
