me and my friends are going camping for senior week, but i was talking to my parents and they said that smoking pot at a state park would be a really bad idea. they said with drinking we should just be discrete but we shouldnt even bother trying to hide weed cause if we got caught with that it would be really bad. so does anyone know of places to go or something where we wouldnt have to worry about that? (btw i live in Philadelphia, and we dont want to drive any more than like 5 hours or so) i mean, obviously we wont go to a state park but i dont know of many campsites and i want to go to one where i know they wont bother people or anything.
I am from one of the places with the best and strictest state parks in the nation, Montana. You are being to paranoid! They can't do shit to you if they smell it! That is a totally safe place. I don't understand why druggies think everyone is after them. If you see a stoner and you are vacationing, what will you do? NOTHING! Who cares! If you have confidence then people wont fuck with you anyways. The most they can do is tell you to leave. park rangers don't have the power to arrest you or search you for weed... There is a golden rule to life, Don't be an IDIOT! If you don't act like a bunch of morons then no one will care! Obviously don't stick the weed in a fucking circle or on top of your car. Just make sense and use your noggin. Trust me, I have done this type of shit before. I guess it is different elsewhere. In Montana they can't do anything about drug from what I was told. Hey man I'm from Philly too. What park do you plan on going to? I've hiked in a lot of state parks and usually got high every time. I rarely see state troopers when I get really far in
well we would be camping, so we would be like on a path or something. my mom mentioned a few, hickory run was one of them.
i wouldnt camp in a improved campground if i was planning on partying. i would find a primitive site in the national forest. and as to the stupid comment about them not being able to do shit if they smell it.. lol,it is exactly that. "park rangers dont have the power to arrest you"?? lol BULLSHIT!! research it,they have just as much authority as the state police.
exactly..here in California, the park rangers are no different than a street police officer, except they are better equipped with 4x4's..research out a place way out that you have to hike to and there should be no problems toking.
i wouldnt even worry about a hike in spot,just find a place where ya know there wont be to many folks. around here there are hunt camps right off the forest service roads all over. it is rare that a ranger will actually stop and check you out and most spots youll have ample time to stash your shit before they get to you unless your being a complete moron and just have everything laying around in plain view,..
I've been to hickory run before. theres really not that many park rangers around, just make sure your not being blatantly obvious, you should be fine.
well like, it depends on where you camp, but if your camped away from the general public, and you keep a fire burning when you smoke, no one will really notice. but if there's like 20 people camping around you, it's probably not a good idea. when you get there and see where your camped you should be able to tell whether it's a good idea or not.
yeah i guess so. i dont know if the park ranger people will patrol or anything, cause my parents were saying that they might be more tempted to check up on us since we're kids and not like a family or whatever. but they said they probably wont come by unless we're being really loud or something, like if they have reason to come by. but smelling pot is a good enough reason... are you allowed to smoke cigs on campgrounds?
dude,are there no national forests there? your parents are correct. trust me on this. state park campgrounds are full of families with younger kids and old folks. as soon as the rangers see yall they will keep tabs on you because they have nothing better to do. the rest of the people there will scrutinize you and your friends simply because of your age. trust me on this from experience.. also the 10 pm quiet time rule will be when the rangers come wandering out of the darkness and surprise you all if they dont do it before hand. thats assuming yall will still be awake at 10.. we were hassled for whispering outside our tent at 10:02 PM. in the great smokey mountains park years ago.
The best idea would be to go to some unpathed woods with no supplies but a flint, an oz of pot and a makeshift knife and survive the man way

there's a place in bangor PA. i can't give you directions, because i myself don't even really know how to get there. but i will tell you that it's the most gorgeous view you'll ever see. there's always a lot of people camping there though... but they seem cool as hell.
If you're having a massive rager in the woods that will draw in the authorities, then you probably should be doing anything/ possess anything illegal. If you are being respectful with a few friends, do whatever you want. Anytime I've camped, they've been way more strict on drinking than smoking, mainly because dumb ass kids go and have parties at camp sights and pollute by leaving all their empties
