Ok, so my Mom has this right wing, up tight, psychotic, fickle, friend that's staying with us this weekend. You see, the first time I met her I didn't even say one word to her and she started bashing me, my lifestyle, and all hippies. I am a very chilled passive dude so I didn't say anything, I feel bad that I didn't though. She told me, like a lot of conservative assholes that this whole thing wasn't going to last, which is bullshit. I'm very dedicated to peace, saving mother-earth, and if anything, non-violence. She said that I was going to become a suit. I know that's not true, I need some help guys, before I run away from home!

You need to be as thick skinned as possible. Try to react to everything she says as coolly as possible. She sounds too stupid and arrogant to be fased by conventional argument, so don't bother arguing with her if you can't win. Don't try to justify being yourself, just be yourself and don't let her fase you. What does she have on you? Words? Words are nothing.

Now, you need to find out her weaknesses. Find out particular insults, ideas or phrases that annoy her and use them. Make a single dig at her everytime she says something stupid and leave it there, don't try arguing and don't let anything she says get to you. Basically, you're young, free and you don't have to live with being a close minded bitch so you already are one up on her.

And how is a nightmare exactly? Does she beat you? Abuse you? Ignore you? Molest you? Not support you financially? Not put a roof over your head?

Try having real horrible parents or no parents at all and then you can come and cry about it.

 

Things have been really crazy around here for a long time. My mom is divorcing my asshole step dad, my grandma never sets any sort of limits when it comes to drinking, and believe me she's a bitch when she gets drunk. I love my Mom very much, she raised me. She dumped my loser of a dad when I was 4, so I never had a father figure. But I'd say she did an awesome job raising me. I would move out but my mom really needs me at this point, she's fragile.

 

See, now you explained a bit more, I didn't know this stuff so I apologize, I thought the only thing she did was just say things about your lifestyle, and it's admirable that you are staying and being there for her.
