i just got a new computer but am having difficulty getting it on the internet. the old one in windows me, the new one is xp... i;m on high speed internet through the phone line(dsl) they include a disk when you sign up but i lost it... help!
ok.. more questions. could i somehow just transfer my info from the old to the new by using the ethernet cable? have a link or explanation if it is so?
try here to tell you how to set up a network... http://forums.about.com/ab-compnetwork/ As for the CD, have a look on the companies web site, maybe you can download an installer from there
If you can't download it from the webpage...there is usually a number you can call...like customer service.
a real simple way to move files, is a crossover cable. it looks just like an ethernet cable, but some of the wires inside are "crossed over" so your two computer will think they are on a network together.
