i was watching a special on some tv show ages ago and it was about people that built big luxurious tree houses and lived in them while on vacation and after retirement..........some of them were crazy nice, while some others were just so so but either way it would be sweet!!!

If I was somewhere that had huge ass trees, I'd definitely like to do stuff like that. But not as a main housing thing. I'm pretty sure there is little more then a bed in that ball.

There's a place in australia (maybe NZ... or somewhere else altogether... lol), that has 'cabins' made out of the large concrete sewer pipes. pop a wall into each end with a door in one a window in the other.

Moving Containers would make easy houses.. Durable too..

 

The problem with any of those ideas, for me anyway, is that they all require so much more work and material to make them feasible here that they become a waste... Strawbales... whether you want a 200sf place or 2000...

My favourite level in the computer game, Myst, was the treehouse level that was just like this!

 

Ive always wanted a tree house...great view, and good protection against zombies.

 

On the OLN (Outdoor Life Network), I think I watched the show "Don't Forget Your Passport" this girl traveled to a place in the jungle that was a hotel of treehouses. They would swing on cable lines to get from one place to another. You would have to hook yourself from one cable to the next to slide across the jungle canopy.
