Do you want long ambient instrumental pieces? Like ambient techno (nothing like techno, just really chill). Hard to explain.

Okay, here are some post rock/ambient/laid back/jazz (sometimes)/ but not to be mistaken for new age albums I like. Most is instrumental with occasional spoken dialogue and/or movie sound clips woven in. It is perfect to make a playlist and just relax for a few hours for several days in a row, if you want that.

Obviously, I am biased, but I think this is very good, and even interesting, spacey/relaxing music. It is a lot, but I simply want to give you plenty of options, not overwelm you. Because I can offer more, but I will wait.

    Labradford - Mi Media Naranja
Auburn Lull - Alone I Admire
    Lanterna - Sands
Hammock - Raising Your Voice... Trying To Stop An Echo
    Loscil - Submers
    Dif Juz - Extractions
    Pan American - 360 business 360 bypass
Beef Terminal - The Grey Knowledge
    Jim O'Rourke - Bad Timing
    A Lily - Wake:Sleep
    Rachel's - Selenography
    Japancakes - The Sleepy Strange
Stafraenn Hakon - Skvettir Edik A Ref
    Peter Broderick - Float
    Yagya - Rhythm Of Snow
    Gas - Zauberberg
    Couch - Fantasy
Water Fai - Girls in the White Dream

Yatha Sidra - A meditation mass. Couldn't find any online samples... but I highly recommend it. Very relaxed 70's psych rock. More relaxed with a touch of psychedelia then rock so excellent for this thread :)

I don't know any of the names on your list! I'm really not into most post rock, ambient, shoegaze and crossovers of those with eachother or jazz though. I did try it out, especially when it started to get associated with the stoner rock, psych & progressive rock scene since I like certain styles in there but I got dissappointed time after time. It appears really not to be my cup of tea, I'm afraid. But yeah, I'm kind of a pretty selective bastard when it comes to my chill music (even within the genres that I love) :D

Ulrich is one of my favorites, surprised I forgot him.

Soulseek is a goldmine for rare stuff by the way.

    Sugar Plant - Happy/Trance Mellow
Labradford - E Luxo So (also very good)
Stars of the Lid - Avec Laudenum

Might be pushing it, but, Fuxa - Very Well Organized

If you liked Yagya, I think the Gas album would be a good one to check out too.

If you want chill music with lyrics, I can come back with lots more. Or at least a dozen or so to start.

it's so annoying when youtubes get taken off.
going to go through this thread and try and replace them, and also remember to put the name and artist so that i can find them again..

the shame is, that some had beautiful videos to watch while listening, and now they're gone, sadly.

there's some happy memories in this thread and others of mine, some sad ones too, especially now.
anyone got anything for a shattered heart?
a good tune or song to start putting back the pieces?

(sorry everyone, i do tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, always was just a silly soft hippie, but wouldn't want it any other way)
