Why is it that everyone refers to every hippie to doing drugs...

I personally chose not to.
weeds easier to get then porn, I just feel no need to. Yet, everyone I know refers to hippies as drug-loving...

not every emo teen slices and dices but the stereotype is that they all do

Humans have developed sterotypes because its just the way our brain organises too much information. Besides im guessing most hippies do do drugs anyway so, to an extenet, they are right when they say hippies do drugs.
But really, if people took the time to undertand hipies more they would undertand that no all hippies do drugs.

lol weed is not easier to get then porn, i think u might be looking inthe wrong places, porn dont grow in fields, and you cant easily donwload high grade buddah

Something else that doesnt help the hippie sterotype is the people who smoke pot and dont hold any of the beliefs. but they get labeled as hippies.

kinda like if you believe a lot of punks and goths are now being labeled as hippies.

 

its because of the sixties, back when hippies were big they did a lot of stuff to "expand their minds", and most of it was drugs.

 

Its a stereotype. I think there are different types of hippies, some of which do tend to do drugs. There the ones that dress in tie die and all that. Most of them DO do drugs. Then theres the sort of neo hippies who are really vegetarian, or really eco friendly, who possibly could smoke pot, but not necessarily. I think its just the traditional hippy values go well with stuff like pot and acid, ie being one with nature, seeing through the government, all that stuff.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with the stereotype on this one. With a few exceptions, because there are exceptions to every rule, I would say that most hippies do smoke pot and or do drugs of some type or at least did at one point in their lives. It is ingrained into the culture. Me for example, I am the most non-hippie preppy looking white guy on the face the the planet and you would and could not tell by looking at me that I smoke pot. I guarantee you though that I could look at someone at tell if they did drugs if they were to fit into the stereotype. It is one of the shared experiences that make most hippie types a hippie type. Some additional but not as regular ones are clothing, long hair and taste in music. Because of the comfort level that most hippies share with one another they will tend to travel and or live together.

I don't think it's a bad thing. However, because of it most hippies make themselves targets to people like cops. In a way it's a lot like racial profiling.
