I'm male, and I like going barefoot over all sorts of surfaces because I find it improves my mood. I'm slightly bipolar, and this especially works when I'm hyper and getting anxious. As a result, my feet are hard enough to go on 10+ mile hikes with no problems. Of course, the foot-fetish thing tends to obscure other reasons for people to get interested in bare feet on the Net. But I wonder if the reason that so few women seem to campaign for bare feet, or to make any sort of thing about it, compared to the men is that the fetish thing puts them off? In my experience, some girls find going barefoot especially good for PMT and anxiety, but having the possibility of their being "crept-out" by fetishists discourages them.
There are some really creepy fetishists out there. That's why I don't post pictures of my feet, nor do I care to look at other people's feet. What's the point? I'll share experiences of how awesome it feels, but the visual aspect has nothing really to do with it. They look like elongated hands with short fingers.
Funny, they always looked like feet to me . An interesting perspective from a barefooter. Whilst I'm not a big fan of the pictures post, I do like environmental images, i.e., pictures of folks walking/hiking/climbing in bare feet. It's cool to see the different terrain and observe the mechanics of our amazingly well-engineered appendages. While I disagree with the premise of his post, Barefoot Traveller posted some good examples of this here (first two images of his post and my subsequent one). In response to the OP, ganesha1967 just posted an interesting article that's highly relevant to your question here. In terms of women and bare feet, it seems to me that society tends to frown less on bare feet for women than it does for men, hence, there's perhaps a bit less reason to "campaign". Not to say that women never get hassled...
