What about Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania? The Baltic countries are pretty cool. And if you can get into Belarus, kudos, supposed to be a beautiful country.
hello, does anyone have any nice suggestions on hippy places/gatherings or festivals to go to in Poland and the baltic states in july/august 2009?
katja, check Polish music festival Przystanek Woodstock: http://www.en.wosp.org.pl/woodstock/ Entry is for free, cos the bands play for free. It´s not for people who like chamber events, cos there are over half million visitors every year, but looks like a nice event with nice idea Date of ´09 Przystanek is 31st of july and 2nd august.
I love Eastern Europe. But my language skills are sooooo retarded. I'm off to see more of Poland very soon. Maybe a grand tour of a few countries if there's time spare.
Too late, flights booked JUly 31 to 2 Aug. If u see a stalker badly disguised as a tree following u around the festival, can I say "its nothing to do with me"
If there will be a hot summer, maybe it will be myself stalking around trees ;-))) Anyway I wanted to say that as I know Poland is part of Central Europe, not Eastern
East,Central? My geography's useless anyway.. I thought central was Germany? (scratches head) Have u been to Krakov? Or can anyone tell me what to see there?
Germany as a central ....you mean during the era of nazi occupation? About Kraków..I have never been, even I had dilemma if study there or not but everybody who came back was enraptured. It´s big city, more beautiful than Warsaw. Very artistic. I guess there are still something to do.
Yeah even today, some of em would like to redraw Europe's borders as Germany's own I don't think my forebears would ever rank Germany as their favourites even 60 years later.. Krakov, yeah I heard its described as very beautiful. Maybe that was before the hoards of drunken British...
Don´t worry, our capital Bratislava was same ugly before drunken British as it´s now .-)) Yeah, easy to understand. Especially when you have also Slavic roots
