Does anyone know the phases that dreads go through?
Like the approximate amount of time also.

Mine are at about 7 months neglect, they dont stand up at all, unless i hold them up for 5 seconds. Some have straight wispy ends. The top of my head is pretty frizzy, and the hair at the very back hairline by my neck, isn't quite dreaded yet.

we are all different, and we all have different hairtypes. and many other things plays its part in the maturing process. everything from how we wash, to how much we move in our sleep. hard to really come to any conclusions that can be generalised

what do u mean by stand up unless u hold em for 5 seconds?
they shouldnt stand up unless theyre a waxy mess

7 months should be getting closer to mature vbut depends on length u started with
and ..mature dreads can have whispy ends
al;ways will have fuxzzzaround the scalp and can have short undreaded hair arounbd the edges
    thats noermal
mature only means thwy are as dreaded as they will get
naturaly and otherwise that can be anywhere from a year to 2

natural vs backcomb and other methods dont varry a whiole lot except in the early stages

stage 1 backcombed ..the dreaded backcombed sideshow bob look
stage 1 neglect the bedhgewad look
stage 2 backcombed baby locks ..the backcombed hair may come undone or not but just startes to begin to actualy dread
stage 2 neglect 1sxt baby dreads appear
stage 3 both..the teen age stage..wild and rebelios loopy kinky crazy shrinking and misbehaving
    then finaly begioknninbg to maturew
the mature stage is marked by less weekly changes..settling in and beginninbg to grow rather thenshrink
theyre as tightly locked as they'll get
thety may change some in fewature over timne but the changes are gradual less drastic..mostly they just change in lenmgth

frizz around scalp will become new stage 1-2 babies when it reaches the needed length..
the tips may blunt..or may remain whispy for decades
    i love my whispy ends

lets see pics might be able to guyess at approx where ya are and how long till realmaturity
but some of the things u mentioned go on beyon d maturity
